Omega Phi Psi Moritorium on (most) Member Selection and Social Activity

On Sunday, a scant few hours after the death of Brandon Adams, tens of thousands of Omegas in more than 700 chapters in the United States, Bermuda, Bahamas, the Virgin Islands, Korea, Japan, Liberia, Germany, and Kuwait received a letter from Omega Psi Phi’s Grand Basileus (essentially, their national president) David E. Marion, declaring a halt to the international organization’s membership selection and all social activities. In a stunning move, the fraternity’s national board had basically stopped all fraternity activity, except for a few rare circumstances.
This is something that until I found out about it, I never thought I'd see a Greek organization do.

The intake AND social activities part, or just the intake part? Because I know you know NPHC orgs have halted intake nationally at least three major times since you've been on GC: The AKAs in 02-03 after the LA drowning case; Alpha maybe in 2010; and the Deltas like four years ago.

The social activities part of the moratorium is something I've never heard of before now.

Honestly, I didn't recall those times, and aside from posting the article, and brief comment that I had never seen a suspension of basically ALL activities, I'll hope people who know what they're talking about comment or opine.
