The Phi Sig Random Thread

After bitchin and moaning for a year now, I finally gave up the ghost and put in my two week notice at work.

I have a total sense of relief, but I also am kinda really scared!! Yeah, I don't have another job lined up... At least not as of this moment!

So wish me luck as I venture forth and find myself another paycheck! :D ;) :p

Oh, and why is it that when I went in to get my lunch today I found that my Diet Coke was missing?? Yeah, that's just not cool... But at least I had h2o!

I've decided where I want to get married! But that'll probably change by the time I actually find a guy... in like 60 years.

SapphireSphinx9 04-11-2005 12:45 PM

LOL - me too...

i think i'm gonna get a boy to marry me when i'm old and decrepit, for my money. so i guess i have to get old and get some mad money, first! haha :D ;) :p

SapphireSphinx9 04-14-2005 03:40 AM

ok, keep your fingers crossed!!! just finished printing out a ish-load of resumes/cover letters and will be sending them out tomorrow...

"come on baby, momma needs a new pair of shoes!" :D :p

So I was thinking, when you "grow up" you are prepared to deal with engagements, wedding and babies, but something I wasn't prepared for was death. Because we're getting older, our families are getting older and grandparents and sometimes parents pass away. I haven't had many deaths in my family but I've had a lot of friends recently who have lost friends and relatives, and I just never thought about that.

I guess this post doesn't really make sense, but it does in my mind. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

Glitter650 04-22-2005 01:16 PM

Last year my great grandmother, and my dad's dad passed away. Thankfully everyone else in my family is in good health. These are the two closest people to me who have passed away, I don't look foward to more, I totally understand what you're talking about Jess.

today's my last day at work... i have an interview on monday, wish me luck! :D

jess_pom 05-04-2005 03:31 PM

To the women who use the 2nd floor restroom at work:

For the love of all that is holy, if you leave a dump, SPRAY!!! I bought air freshener soley for that purpose. There's nothing wrong with pooping at work, everyone does it, but please think about everyone else's noses!

SapphireSphinx9 05-04-2005 06:11 PM

ewww! that's horrible!

when i was working at cingular i was the only girl... i had to go buy bottles of lysol spray to try to help the odor! *gag*

but on a good note - i had another interview yesterday... i think it went pretty well, if i do say so myself! keep your fingers crossed, ladies, because this would mean A LOT more $ than i was making before! and that would make me A LOT more happy! haha :D ;) :p

My randomness of the day is more along the lines of a rant.

I'm ANNOYED at the administration at my university. I didn't get a job that I was qualified and perfect for because I am a member of a GLO. They act like we are a plague to the university when there have never been any incidents of hazing, alcohol misuse nothing, they have no good reason for stomping on us when we are the people that make the student socities and organizations work. We are the people who practically run theirorientation program for them yet they ban our letters from campus during orientation, make us sign agreements to pretend like we know nothing about greek organizations during the week and not promote ourselves. We raise huge amounts for charity with things like Barbeques and yet they give us a hard time when we request to use university space for these charitable endeavours. We are on the news all the time for the great stuff our organization does, for how much money we raise, for our excellent grades all the time being excellent PR for the university and yet still they treat us like dirt and punish us for having the drive, ambition and time management skills to be in something so incredibly worthwhile while maintaining a stellar GPA.

*sighs* okay that's a little off my chest... sorry for the big rant ladies.

Did I mention to any of you that I went to Japan in April? Just for a week, but it was great!

(there's a bit of randomness for ya)

SapphireSphinx9 06-06-2005 05:08 PM

After almost two weeks of having to hobble around in a slipper, because of my stupid broken toe - I've finally been able to wear normal shoes!!

(ok, that's really not as exciting for anyone but me... haha!)
