Cheers and Chants
Hey Sigma's,
Some of my sisters and I were talking about our lack of variety and number of cheers/chants we had. So I thought it would be cool to put some of our chapter's cheers/chants on here and you all could do likewise, maybe we could expand all of our lists of cheers/chants. Here goes: T-T-T-R-I-T-R-I-S-I-WITH AN S WITH AN I WITH AN S-I-G WITH AN S-I-G-M-A THAT'S HOW YOU SPELL HEAR'S HOW YOU YELL IT, TRI-SIGMA!!! We also use the song "I want to sing" for various fraternity events: I want to sing sing sing, I want to shout shout shout, I want to sing, I want to shout Sigma Chi, Sigma Chi's are cool as h***, we want Derby right now, I want to sing I want shout Sigma Chi. We use Tri-Sigma clap a lot, and our "hey" cheer if we when stuff. What are some of your cheers? SLAM, Court |
I've been searching for some new chants too. We also use the chant above. I saw another chant that a girl used in her signature. It looked really cute but I don't know how it goes. What is the Tri-Sigma clap and the other one that your chapter uses when yall win stuff?

Here's my chapter's favorite chant...rather long...no particular beat I guess, just screamed at the top of your lungs....
Everyone runs together into a circle/bunch with their arms over their heads in an "O" or circle while screaming....."OHHHHH" Then someone yells, "1, 2, 3" Who, who, who are we We are sigma, sigme three Sigma tri, sigma true Sigma, sigma, we love you! T-R-I, T-R-I, S-I-G-M-A, hey We're Tri Sigma, can't you see We're the best sorority We've got spirirt, spunk & go We're Tri Sigma, don't you know! Then we do the sigma clap, and at the end yell "SIGMA!" Did any of that make sense? |

We did "Sigmaration", "I Love The Violets", "In the Light", "one Little Candle", we also did some of the other listed above with some small changes like
1492 in fourteen hundred ninety two columbus sailed the ocean in eighteen hundred ninety eight we were set in motion sing it loud and sing it long let it die.. no never let em know from coast to coast we're sigma tri forever! when satan came from down below he said with stary eyes there's only one thing wrong with hell there are no sigma tris soooooo sing it loud and sing it long let it die.. no never let em know from coast to coast we're sigma tri forever! We have one called "Boom Boom"
(clap on the beat or word) boom boom I wanna go Sigma Tri boom boom and baby thats no lie boom boom I wanna go Sigma tri don't you..(clap clap) boom boom i wanna wear purple and white boom boom and carry that pearl so bright boom boom I wanna go sigma tri don't you t-r-y.. t-r-i ... s-i-g-m-a .. HEY! We have the sigma clap..which is always a good one, and the 1492 started picking up some fans this past year. We also sing "linger" at Pref and at Senior Send On. Heres another one called Are you a Sigma?...I hope I remembered it all Are you a Sigma? I said a Sigma? And do you come from Eta Xi [put in your chapter name where I have Eta Xi] just like me? And do you love it? are you proud of it? Well thats Sigma love yes indeed. And do you work and work for that sigma right work and work for that sigma right are you a sigma? Our advisors just taught "I Love the Violets" during Recruitment this year, but I have yet to learn it because I was a Rho Chi. Another cheer we always do is
T, TR, TRI SI, GMA, Oh yeah we're number 1 all the way (clap, clap, clap) - Repeat 3 times. |

At our chapter we did the following chant:
Everyone gets in a circle with a hand towards the middle and we scream "aaaahhhhh" (Usually a sister will start screaming it and everyone else comes and the circle starts forming) S-I-G-M-A There is no other way S-I-G-M-A Sigma Sigma Sigma HEY!! WWWOOOOOO!!! |
We were learning some new songs/chants last night at the house. They were so much fun- we can't wait to go serenading. I would post them if I could remember them! LOL;)

This is the one my chapter does:
We're tri sigma can't you see? We're the best sorority We've got spirit spunk and go! We're tri sigma don't uu know S-S-S-I-G G-G-G-m-A S-I-G G-M-A Tri Sigma All the Way! There is a clap that goes with it and after it in the same beat we chant it in that is pretty cool. We usually changed from clapping to banging on the walls and stopping the floor at parties |

Need chants & Cheers
Hey everyone! My chapter is in a desperate need of chants and cheers..we have a couple but we do them over and over and over again...and not to mention the delta zeta's on campus stole some of ours, and are now using them! :eek: I like some of the one's that have been put up, but I am not sure how the "tune" of them go. We do the Sigma clap, and boom boom, and sigmaration, ...here are some of the ones that i didnt see posted..
"A Yell" a yell, a yell, a good substantial yell and when we yell, we yell like hell, and this is what the hell we yell GO SIGMA GO.. GO SIGMA GO "Who Am I" Who am I (girls echo) Who am I (girls echo) We are the girls (echo) Of sigma tri (echo) Sigma One (echo) Sigma Two (echo) Three times better (echo) Than the Rest of you!! Hey ladies! Some girls in my chapter just learned the Sigma clap, but we're wondering if there is a specific chant you all say before/after/when you do it, or if you just clap between cheers or what?

this one everyone in greek life knows and everyone chants along with us when we do it! they just love it! This is one that Alpha Omicron came up with and we kinda adopted it bc it was SOOOOOOO cute!!!!!!! It is our favorite. we remixed it with our Hotty Totty for our school's cheer chant comp!

Greek Alphabet (tune of twinkle twinkle little star) - can really be used to teach new members the Greek Alphabet.
Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta, Eplison, Zeta, Eta, Theta. Iota, Kappa Lamda and Mu Nu and Xi Omicron Pi Rho and Sigma Sigma Sigma Tau Upsilon, Phi Chi Psi Omega Now that you know the Greek Alphabet, Sing with me and we won't forget. Greeks in unity we'll be, if we learn to sing this song. |
We have one that starts with one person calling out:
