Per K-State Greek Life tweet on August 7, 896 have signed up for sorority recruitment at Kansas State. The recruitment guide can be found at http://www.k-state.edu/greek/prospec...%2006.5.14.pdf Move in is August 17 and Open House rounds are the 18th and 19th.

Eta: I went back and looked at last year's numbers. This is way up from the 2013 record registration of 818. Overall K-State enrollment last year was also a record at 24,581. So glad so many people want to be a part of one of Princeton Review's top 12 colleges with the happiest students. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/0...n_5652502.html. Students have even dubbed the name of the town Manhappiness. :)

I saw nothing about the Sigma Sigma Sigma recolonization that was supposed to happen last spring-has that been delayed further or cancelled outright? Any idea?

I know TriSigma was active with recolonization recruitment activities (tabling in the Union etc) last January, and then the announcement was made that there was not enough interest at that time. There wasn't a clear indication if and when they would try again, and it's been radio silence since. The national website lists several upcoming colonizations (including Fort Hays State in Hays, KS), but K-State is not mentioned.

As big as the upcoming new member classes may be, it really does seem like the numbers are there to support a new chapter. I know we won't get any sympathy from some schools with new member classes pushing 100 or more, but we could have pledge classes nearing 70 which seems really big for K-State. It makes me wonder if TriSigma would have been more successful with a fall recruitment. That is how ZTA did it a few years ago, and it went very well.

What I heard is that Tri Sigma's extension plan wasn't a good fit at K-State and that they will not be colonizing at this time.
