latina sorority
i am a shy freshman this fall semester and i want to join this particular Latina sorority on campus but i don't know what the hell to do?! they seem so secretive about it and they don't do rush like the other sororities

Total lane swerve (as I am not in a Latina organization), but it would be a good idea to meet and get to know the women who are in the sorority you're interested in.

Often times interest sororities do not do recruitment the same way that NPC sororities do. The best way to find out more information is to look for your school's organization listing and find the contract information for the sorority. Then contact whoever is listed. Tell them you are interested in learning more about the sorority and how to join. Good luck!

I find it hard to believe that you can't find ANY information regarding intake/recruitment/whatever term this organization uses. It's not that difficult to find. |

This is 100% right. Most orgs in the cultural/special interest category will have an informational where you will learn more about the organization and how to join. So you should keep your eyes out for that. If you dont hear/see anything, contact the chapter directly and/or your school's greek life office and they should be able to help you. Also, attend events hosted by the chapter and get to know the members of the org. Its a goof way to let them know that you are interested. |
I would recommend this:

I am in a Latina sorority. Whenever a woman I've never seen at events would come up to me/email me and say "I want to join your sorority," I would think to myself, "Hmmm, right, she doesn't even know anything about it." Really, the best way to learn about an organization is to go to the events it puts on for the campus/community and get to know individual members. |

But, to be fair, many students don't really know where to start. I knew nothing about sororities when I started college, let alone Latina sororities (which did not exist on my campus at the time). :)

^Okay, well...web pages were kind of a new thing when I was a freshman in college...so was email, for that matter. :)
