In this thread, we brag about the good grades we get...

Since GLO's are at least 1/3 about scholarship (3 S's: Scholarship, Service, Socialness), I figured we could do something like the Smarty Pants idea my chapter does. Each time you get an A or a B, you get a large or small sticker on a cut-out pair of "pants" we have hanging in the hall. Sooo...brag about good grades here!

I just found out I got an 80 on a finance test!!!

I didn't think I'd done that well. It wasn't especially hard, just a lot of stuff to remember. But yay!

PhoenixAzul 04-04-2005 01:21 AM

Well, not to brag, but I had a 4.0 last quarter and fall quarter. Our chapter has a "smarty pants" envelope in the house to slip in a piece of paper to nominate a sister who got good grades that week. But I really really like the idea of the pants outside your door..i'd get a chuckle out of it.

Taualumna 04-04-2005 01:58 AM

I got a 9.5/10 on a recent event management assignment.

RhoSigma2003 04-08-2005 11:58 PM

I got a 76 on my Advanced Applied Calculus Test. The class avg was a 40, i was very proud of myself, plus I got a A on part 3 of 4 for my Organizational Communications paper, that i stayed up ALL night doing!

Congrats everyone!

Private I 04-09-2005 12:14 AM

I got a 96 on a 15 page paper that I was definitely writing the morning of...ugh and I sure felt it as the day went on...but it's ALL worth it...

epchick 04-09-2005 06:34 PM

Ok...so this doesn't have to do with anything about grades, but i'm happy, so....

I got invited (and accepted) into the National Society of Collegiate Scholars !!! YAY lol.

bekibug 04-10-2005 01:41 PM

Eh, it's still something on topic about doing well academically. Rock on!

ShyViolet 04-10-2005 05:12 PM

I got a Distinction on my "Images of the Capture of Helen in Art and Literature: from Antiquity to 1700" paper. I worked my ass off writing the bloody thing, and want to refine it to publish.
It's really difficult to get a high mark as a postgraduate in my department so yay for me. :) [Distinction is a 17+/20, by the way]

bekibug 04-22-2005 02:01 AM

I got an 85 on my Spanish interview yesterday! My partner and I were nervous because this time we had to converse in front of the teacher for 8-10 minutes and we weren't supposed to have a dialogue already prepared. Thankfully we got a topic that we knew the vocab for!

KSUViolet06 04-22-2005 04:03 AM

I've been invited to join the Alpha Kappa Mu academic honorary.

I just got a perfect A on my lesson plan for Principles of Teaching.

I also got an A on my Content Outline in that class.

My Shadow Study of a Student in the same class was also an A.

I got an A on my Lit. for Young Adults midterm which consisted of one question to be answered in no less than 5 pages.

I got an A on my History of English Language paper.

squirrely girl 04-23-2005 12:06 AM

omegamcgee 04-23-2005 11:33 PM

I made a 90 on my International Conflict paper. It was about the Falklands war. I think I'm the only person to ever make an A on one of his papers. My life is okay now!

EuSchel 05-11-2005 03:11 PM

Smarty Pants over Here

I got a 4.0 last semester! And that was with 1 of the worst teachers ever. He didn't even have due dates for his assignments! LOL . . .

carnation 05-11-2005 04:21 PM

Woohoo! Our 3 undergraduate daughters all made the Dean's List! And our daughter who just got her master's made a 3.75 and got into Phi Kappa Phi!

Congrats to her, those Aggie AXO's are smart women!:D

TexasStar 05-12-2005 09:36 AM

Thanks aggie AXO, alot of her sisters got together and gave her a "legally blonde" going away party. Really cute, everything in pink. I have never seen someone dread graduation so much.. It's hard to leave the best place on earth! She'll be heading for OU for law school and says she may yell "Booner Sooner" when they play tu.

You AXO's are a special bunch of ladies.

sueali 05-12-2005 10:59 AM

I was just inducted into Phi Kappa Phi. Not grades but a product of my grades in the past.

The Truth 05-12-2005 11:07 AM

bekibug 06-24-2005 05:53 PM

I got a B in Intermediate Financial Accounting I!!! It's the "make or break" class for accounting majors and I did it in a 5-week term!

If I can just keep my A in Spanish, that gives me a 3.571 for the minimester. Here's hoping!

KunjaPrincess 06-24-2005 06:15 PM

I'm on the 20 year plan LOL

I went back to school full time 8 weeks ago, taking 2 classes.

And, I GOT A 4.0 :D :D :D

I have 3 more starting on the 4th of July for 8 weeks then 2 for the second part of the summer. I will graduate someday LOL:D

smiley21 06-25-2005 11:28 AM

I just finished a six week summer session for two classes. In Linguistics and Creative Writing, I got Bs.

christiangirl 06-26-2005 12:06 AM

Well, I don't have a sorority to make proud, but last semester I got no Cs for the first time since 4th grade! 4 As and 3 Bs, yeah for me!

bekibug 06-28-2005 12:15 PM

Ok, so I did keep that A in Spanish, so that's a 3.57 for me! Woohoo!

Stef the Pef 07-02-2005 03:44 AM

4.0, HECK YEEEEEEEAH!!!

eh...I don't do that a whole lot...and I found a thread encouraging such things...eh...I'll just be on my way now. :D

bekibug 07-18-2005 10:13 PM

91* on my Managerial/Cost Accounting Systems test tonight! Much better than I did in my Principles of Managerial Accounting class.

*Including the 7 bonus points my group in the class won today in "ACCT 3210 Jeopardy." But even an 84 ain't bad. :)

ShyViolet 08-02-2005 06:16 PM

I got a distinction (19/20 - unheard of!!) on my "Images of the Ship in Alaska Native and non-Native Art Pre and Post Contact" paper and catalogue, and ended up with an overall distinction in that seminar (Images of the Ship). :) I also just finished my MLitt and have at least one paper to publish, if not more.

amgn253 08-04-2005 01:50 PM

I am still waiting for my summer grades. I'm checking my school's student area so often!! It has been almost a month since classes were finished, what's the hold up??!

bekibug 08-04-2005 02:04 PM

3.700 for Summer semester 2005!

B- Intermediate Financial Accounting I
A- Elementary Spanish II
A- Managerial Design and Use of Cost Accounting Info

Easy classes, I know. But I took the first two in one 5-week term and the third in another 5-week term. And the 2nd minimester got thrown off a wee bit by Dennis.

alphaxikt 08-04-2005 02:54 PM

I survived the first summer of my Masters-in-Teaching program in lovely Spokane, Washington, and earned A's in all of my classes so far. One grade isn't posted yet, and it is driving me craaaaazzzy!

BlueReign 08-06-2005 10:49 PM

I have always been afraid of the thought of grad school and I don't know why. Recently I took some courses in Special Education at George Washington University (ranked in the top 25). I ACED them!! This has motivated me to formally apply seeing that I have no problem handling graduate level work at a top institution.

KSUViolet06 08-06-2005 10:57 PM

I ended up with a 3.7 this term. :)
