becoming a brother?
I'll delete this for obvious Newbie problems...

Have you looked at the fraternity recruitment forums, under GreekChat forums top of page, to the left. I think many of your answers are there. And perhaps read forum for advice to gc newbies.
I am a newbie, and probably irritate a few for screwing up, but am trying. Reading topics is a start. It might not be my place as newbie to say this, if not, sorry. Please, please don't annouce you were inspired by Animal House. Just my opinion. |
My mistake
I thought I'd checked the threads, I sort of got lost in the "Newbie top question" thread in the dozens of posts. I'm sorry for making the #1 newbie mistake.
But honestly I don't see much wrong with being inspired by Animal house. What other mainstream movies were there out there that gave a look into the process like rushing, pledging, hazing, etc. Plus, if you take the time to read the book by Chris Miller it's a very interesting coming of age story about pledging in the 1950's. I'm not saying that I take everything from animal house to heart but it sparked an interest into what fraternities are really about. |
Not as big a problem as some may try to make it on this site!
I was always told, "The Dumgest Question is The One Never Asked":) Threads take their own life on this site! Feel free to PM me anytime!:) |

hope i didn't spark deletions. strongly believe in asking questions, even dumb ones, as some as my former professors and a few employers will say, some of my questions have left them dumfounded.
i had just seen postings latetly by the older--mature---veteran---gc'ers (whatever word is preferred), saying look there---as in the forum list. as a newbie, it probably wasn't my place, and i didn't think I was rude. the animal house thing, both my brothers and my cousins, still watch the movie. i'll tiptoe back to my girlie world, and resume my attempts at finding my house keys, and trying to determine if a full size mattress, computer desk and dresser, etc. will fit into a pickup truck. |
