Las Vegas Shooting Victim

Please pray for my chapter sister who is hospitalized in Las Vegas. Also please pray for another chapter sister who saw her friends murdered beside her. Thank you.

I checked in on our advisors and the alumnae I know in the area, all Tri Sigma collegians and area alumnae are accounted for and safe.
Several sisters were there and are just shaken.

Tip: They activated the GIN System's emergency feature as part of the site which sends a check in type text to everyone's phones for them to let advisors know if they are safe or not. If you use GIN for chapter management, this is a neat feature you may want to use in a situation like this.

Christiana Durate, a University of Arizona Sigma Kappa, has been confirmed killed in the attack.

Ariel Romero, a Loyola Marymount Kappa Alpha Theta alumna, was standing next to Christiana in the crowd. Ariel was shot in the face (jaw) and is hospitalized.

I believe there is a critically injured ADPi and former Rebel Girl in the hospital as well.

Her name is Karessa Royce.

Will definitely keep all of these folks in my thoughts and prayers. Also praying for the doctors and hospital staff, who've been working tirelessly to treat the injured.

A friend of mine, who lives in Las Vegas (and a Tri-Delt alum), donated blood, along with her boyfriend. She says the response from the local community has been incredible.

Shortly after the attack, we confirmed that all members of Eta Rho chapter of Gamma Phi Beta at UNLV were accounted for and safe.

However, I regret that a Gamma Phi Beta alumna from TCU was badly injured and hospitalized. Please remember Elle Gargano in your prayers.

Yes I saw that article in the South Bay's Daily Breeze. Christina Duarte was a graduate of Torrance USD's South High School. The initial article was for a missing person and now sadly the news has been confirmed that she was killed. A family friend has a daughter who is a member of the chapter. :( Her friend Ariel Romero remains hospitalized.
