Former Member (Former New Member?) Sues Sigma Sigma Sigma
For basics of lawsuit and allegations see:
http://www.courthousenews.com/2011/10/13/40579.htm Excerpts from the longer article ^^: "Thursday, October 13, 2011 Last Update: 10:24 AM PT Sorority Sisters Accused of Hazing By CARRIE ANN CHERRY* *HUNTINGTON, W. Va. (CN) - A former member claims her sorority sisters conspired against and assaulted her to retaliate for her reporting the Sigma Sigma Sigma house to the national chapter for rules violations, including open beer cans and allowing frat boys to spend the night. Sarah Frances Lyons sued Sigma Sigma Sigma Inc., the Sigma Sigma Sigma Psi Chapter and six sorority members in a lengthy complaint in Cabell County Court. . . . " |
Well, even though this one girl was probably being pushed to drop, there are other ways to do that than to act in such a way. To be honest, I think the girl should have dropped/went inactive, considering her sorority sisters didn't seem to get along with her.
I've got news, if it was a fraternity party (rather than a mixer) her sorority sisters didn't get her thrown out - that is ultimately the fraternity's call.
She claims they hazed her, but it sounds more like there were a few girls who were just being mean to her for snitching. I know it is kind of a fine line between the two.
Ugh; shades of she-who-shall-not-be-named.
