Examples of a fundraising letter?
 

I am in the middle of trying to take our $1000 philanthropy event to a $5000 event and one way I want to do this is to send letters to parents, alumni, and local businesses to give them the opportunity to sponsor our event.

My question is - has anyone sent a similar letter who can post it here so I can get ideas of what to write??

Not quite what you asked, but I wouldn't send letters to local businesses; I would go with at least one other sister to talk with owner/manager in person. Be ready to tell them exactly what the event is, what charity it will benefit, how any money or supplies they give will be used to make the event more successful and what they will receive in return for sponsorship.

I definitely planned on delivering the letters in person - I just wanted to have the letter so that people can see EXACTLY what the event is and what they are paying for.

Then having a followup visit with the manager if we don't hear from them in 2 weeks
