" It is with heavy hearts that Delta Phi Epsilon Sorority mourns the loss of sister and volunteer, Harriet Block Macht. We were notified of Harriet's passing early morning on March 7, 2013.
Harriet was born on April 27, 1927 and became a founding sister of Delta Phi Epsilon at the Delta Delta Chapter at Indiana University in 1948, where she studied music and opera. After graduation, she settled down in the Miami, Fl. area and became a member of the Greater Miami Alumnae Association.

She then served as the first Delta Phi Epsilon National Panhellenic Conference (NPC) Chairman during the NPC's 100th biennium, from 1991-1993. Prior to that prestigious honor, she began serving the NPC in 1988 as secretary and then treasurer."

I mentioned Harriett Macht just the other day. She was Chair of NPC from 1991-93 and then Harriet Rodenberg was Chair from 1993-95. They were fondly referred to as "The Harrietts!"

Always sad to see the elder statesmen go.

Thanks for posting that on this site, SWTXBelle. Harriett was a wonderful woman, the true example of a sister.

Thanks for posting this. Harriett was an amazing sister, not only to Delta Phi Epsilon, but to NPC as well. She will be greatly missed :(
