Spring 2008 Informal Recruitment
Decided not to go through recruitment, deleted post.

This is going to sound cliche, but the best advice I can give you is to be yourself.
Be open minded and give everyone a chance. I know this is informal recruitment and you might not be required to check out all 4 sororities on campus, but certainly check out as many of them as you can. I can't tell you how many times I've heard of girls reluctantly checking out a sorority they weren't initially enthusiastic about and ending up loving it! Be sure not to do/say anything that might get you NEGATIVE attention from the sororities. This is especially true in a small Greek community. Word travels fast. |
Yes!! Get recommendations! It couldn't hurt, and could help a lot! No, cousins don't make you a legacy, but you can still ask them to write you a recommendation. Usually members can find forms on their national's Web sites. Ask your parents to ask around among their friends to see if a family friend can write you a recommendation. Give your parents a list of the sororities there. Even if the friend does not have a chapter there, she might know someone who does. Good luck!;)
