Targeted expansion?
Here’s something to think about, I’d like some opinions…
In the past year or so, every school my sorority has established a colony at or given a presentation at has been religiously affiliated. (I’m talking approximately 8 – 10 schools, throughout the country) Now maybe this is just a big ol’ coincidence, or maybe those are the only places that invited them in, but I think it’s weird. We are a member of NPC and as such can have no religious restrictions. |
It's probably just a coincidence. Many faith-based institutions (mostly Catholic or Protestant, not Baptist) are shying away from the liablity of having local groups and are encouraging their GLOs to affiliate with a national organization. There is actually a Catholic/Jesuit based sorority (Kappa Beta Gamma) that used to be a member of the NPC, but dropped their affiliation when their number of chapter fell. There are still about 4-6 active chapters in the US, all at Catholic or Jesuit colleges.
What sorority are you in? Just curious to see where you're expanding to.. ------------------ Fraternally, Barbara Zeta Tau Alpha Alumna If you have to go around telling everyone you're in charge you're not much of a leader. |
