Much like the Spanish for 'faggot': marico or maricón. In whatever context you use it, it's pretty crude to use in polite company, so it's not unusual to disguise the word into the similar sounding mariscos (shellfish) or mariposa (butterfly).

Not far from my younger brother's house in Las Vegas, there's a Mexican restaurant that proudly boasts that it is "La Casa del Marisco Fresco" ("The Home of Fresh Shellfish"), but if you let your mind wander into the gutter, it doesn't take long to corrupt it into "La Casa del Marico Fresco" ("Home of the Fresh Faggot").

Makes you wonder what's going on in there... ;)

Tom Earp 08-17-2003 03:45 PM

Hey hey, don't forget that "faggot" also means "bundle of sticks" in German. ;) Also..it's the name for a bassoon... <--former bundle of sticks player...

As for dinner...I had a very lovely $0.68 frozen pizza after returning from Kings Island in Cincy.

MeLikey 08-18-2003 01:59 AM

I had this flank steak dish that has tomatos and peppers in a thick brown sauce... I asked my mom to make it since I hadn't had it in years... I would have enjoyed it better had she not made it with brown rice.

MareImbrium 08-18-2003 02:40 AM

Tonight we just ate plenty of leftovers from a little dinner get together my parents had a few nights ago. We had soooo many different side dishes and managed to clean away almost all of them. We had: kalbi (Korean short ribs), kimchi (of course! =P), lots of marinated roots and stuff, egg omelette with green onions, ghym (dried salted seaweed), etc etc. If anyone knows what I'm talking about..woohoo! =D Hee hee.

Goodness...I'm in the mood for an awesome steak right now..crud.

Lady Pi Phi 08-22-2003 09:14 AM

I was out and didn't have time to catch dinner last night, so when I got home I had cold left over pork chops. I was too lazy to heat them up, and some coleslaw. Not exactly and appetizing meal.

But the other night I might dinner and it was so yummy if I do say say so myself. I madde rosemary-garlic baked chicken from the weight watchers cookbook and with it was some brown rice and a salad with my homemade Golden Caesar dressing.

tunatartare 08-22-2003 01:46 PM

Last night I had dinner at my friend's house. Her mom made us salad with Asparagus, string beans, potatoes, tuna, and black olives. It was quite tasty. I wish she gave me the recipe.
