Did you have a chapter house?

Hey all you AOIIs: I LOVE college campuses. In fact, my brother and I have a life-long competition of who has been to more campuses. One of my favorite parts is the greek housing. What chapters have you been to, and did they have houses? I wish AOII would publish pictures of all of the houses - maybe in To Dragma. Here is what I know:

University of Illinois - house (historic landmark!)
University of Nebraska - house
University of Maine - house
University of Tennessee - dorm floor
Vanderbilt - lodge
Northeastern (Oklahoma) State University - dorm floor/suite
University of Oklahoma - house
Iowa State University - house
University of California - Berkeley - house
University of Georgia - house (totally gorgeous)
Auburn University - dorm
University of South Alabama - house
University of Florida- house
Indiana University - house
DePauw University - house (I think this chapter is closed)
University of Colorado - house
Ole Miss - house
University of Minnesota - house
Washington State University - house
Cal Poly - house
Michigan State - house
Cornell - house
University of Kentucky - house
University of Maryland - house

Vanderbilt's "lodge" is really a house. It has a limited number of women living there, however, because of university rules and size.

Middle Tennessee State University: currently-suite..things may change though!

The house sleeps 44 members and one house mother. The house has an office, sitting room, TV room, living room, chapter room/dining room, and patio. It also has a laundry room and a guest room. The house was built in 1958 by Grantham Architechts in Oxford, MS. It has had many facelifts and the most recent one was in the 1980s when the former facid (very modern/boxy looking) was updated with the one you see presently of a more "southern sorority" style house.

Alpha Lambda (Georgia Southern University) has a chapter house that sleeps 15 women. The house was built in 1997-1998, and is gorgeous, unfortunately there do not seem to be any pictures of it on their website. I will see if I can find some.

Nope, we didn't have a chapter house at Pi Alpha. They are getting a new suite in a year or so in the new greek housing complex!

Chi Epsilon does have a house (I'm their CB President). It sleeps between 18-21 women in double or triple rooms. The House director has her own suite with private bath as well. This is an older picture, most of the landscaping is gone or changed since then:

By the way, here is my house...

When I was there it housed 66 women plus a house mom. Almost all of the rooms were doubles with a few triples. We did not have "warm dorm" or "cold dorm" sleeping rooms. Everyone slept in her own room. We used trundle beds to save space.

Every year we hosted an event called "Porch Fling" in May on our front porch. It was in the afternoon and everyone wore letters and invited her friends - Greek or non-Greek - male or female - to hang out on our front porch and celebrate the warm weather and the end of school. It was very low key but one of my favorite events!

Well, I want Nu Beta's house, so we can trade ;)

Iota's house is gorgeous!!!

ETA--I've been to both Kappa Omega houses (their original one and the big one on Rose Street), and saw Tau Omega's floor/suite when we helped colonize them in the mid 1980s (no houses at Transy then, don't know for sure about now).

This is the chapter house at the University of Oklahoma (Xi) which is not too far from where I live, and where both of my little sisters were Kappas (it's ok, OU didn't have AOII back then!!)

This is the "house" at Rhodes in Memphis. My friend initiated there as an alumna! It is more like a lodge - a very nice place to have chapter meetings and rush, but I don't believe any members live there. Maybe officers do? I don't remember.

Just in case--please avoid remote linking any pictures on this thread. I have webspace available if you need to upload and link pictures that way, so let me know if I can help!

Thanks and Roses to everyone. I love seeing all the gorgeous houses. I have to admit I'm darned jealous of all of you who got to live in your chapter housing.

Did you know that the Nu Omicron (Vandy) house has a FOUNTAIN with a SQUARE POOL inside the house? It is almost as big as my dining room!
