Fantasy/Paradox was the place for house music on Saturday nights.
Odell's was it on Friday nights.
and I think anything else you had to travel north to NYC
One thing I loved about both was that you didnt have to go thru the pretense of 'dressing up' in slacks, dress shoes, shirt and tie just to meet some women...you could just go comfortably because guaranteed you was coming out at 4,5 or 6 am drenched.
You know, now that i think about it...my best friend met his wife there....HAHAHAH!
.......and our other friend met ONE of his babymommas there too...heh!

My bad, I'm just now seeing this.
I never went out to any house clubs while in MD/DC or Chicago.
I did, however, find one of my old URB magazines with a history of Chicago House. Many of the artists in the issue are artists that you and AKA_Monet mentioned, so I'll def be making an effort to check them out now. |
