Just vile and hate filled. I hope that TKE throws him out on his ass, too.

Vile is indeed the word.

I thought he was gross at the "cocaine cowboy" screen name.

What the hell is happening to us? Some days I wake up thinking, “we fought these battles in the ‘60s”—and here they are, back again, just as vicious and more easily spread by social media.
I HATE this kind of talk from anybody, but it chills me to the bone when it’s spouted by a young person—it truly makes me afraid for the future of this country.
College is supposed to open you up to new ideas and allow you to experience different races, religions and cultures—at least it did for me. So add tolerance to the list of things that we advisors need to impart on our young brothers and sisters.

This kid is espousing views which existed in the 60s and continue to exist today. Social media just gives a platform to allow those views to be shared with folks he didn't plan on sharing them with. College is supposed to open you up to new experiences, but our own organizations can be an impediment to that. We can and do offer safe spaces for racists and idiots if we don't espouse our values.

I try to seek the explanation to "why"? Everyone is entitled to his/her opinion, no matter how misguided, but the need to share each and every opinion that pops into his/her head on social media baffles me. Perhaps these young people are being misled by the celebrities who make similar posts on social media AND THEN post an insincere apology and are allowed to get away with it. I wonder.

Tau Kappa Epsilon has "removed" 6 members of the Texas Tech chapter due to the conversations that took place.

"Removed" could mean anything. The members could have been expelled or placed on alumnus status and not allowed to participate in chapter activities.
