Sophomore spring rush at Alabama
Hey so from the title you can see that I am wanting to pledge next semester as a sophomore. I transferred here this fall and realized very quickly that in order to meet a lot of people, you kind of have to be in a fraternity, which I am okay with by the way. I was curious to know what fraternities do spring pledgeship at UA and what are the chances of them taking a sophomore?

I would stop by the Greek Life/Fraternity and Sorority Life office. Chapters may not yet know who will be participating in spring recruitment, but that office would be a good place to ask and get guidance for how to best proceed.

Some take spring pledge classes and some don't. It depends on the group and how many they lose after the first semester.
Your best bet is to make friends with a wide variety of men, including those in fraternities. Express your interest in finding a group of brothers, and if someone asks you to visit their house, do so. Almost all fraternity bids at UA are extended informally. Very few pledge via formal recruitment. Being a sophomore is not a detriment. And get involved in some of the many groups on campus. Explore them here: https://thesource.ua.edu/ |
