80's recruitment skit

I am the new VP of recruitment for my chapter and I need some help creating a skit to perform at our first informal recruitment night for the spring. My theme is "Girl's just wanna have fun" 80's theme... anyone have any cool ideas that will reach a diverse audience?

Back in the 80's we sang "Sorority Girl" to "Material Girl" - "Some girls pledge and some girls don't and that's okay by me; 'cause the girls who really count are pledging G Phi B. . . . We are living, in a sorority world, and I am just a Gamma Phi girl . . . " come to mind. We also did "Pledges just want to have fun", but "New Members just want to have fun" doesn't quite fit. LOTS of possible 80s songs to be reworked!

Boy, do I feel old now.

Big hair is a must. Tell your sisters with naturally curly hair to put away their flat irons and straightening serums, apply enormous amounts of mousse, dry their hair upside down, and go for it.

This is kinda random...but everytime I ever heard that song I was at a skating rink lol.

Maybe you could do something with skates, or wear costumes like those rollerblading waitresses?

Skating? Not in my 80s.

No, roller skating is 1970s.

If there are any 1980s movies that are particularly popular at your campus, go with those.

something from FAME, Pretty in Pink, Dirty Dancing, Girls just wanna have fun, The Breakfast club

I wrote a (current at the time!) skit "at the movies." It was a Siskel and Ebert deal, except Friskel and Siebert. The movies I wrote songs for was Grease (Look at me I'm an Alpha Xi), Beverly Hills Cop (it was a Pointer Sisters song but don't remember which one), and a third movie/song. It was a huge hit and soooo 80's.

My images of 80's is BIG HAIR with the ever-present can of aerosol hair spray and spackled on makeup. 3 or 4 colors of eye shadow was mandatory, and what was the point if you blended? People should KNOW you have 3 or 4 colors of eye shadow on. And big sweaters. Really big sweaters. If you wear a medium sweater now, go to Goodwill and find an old Benetton or Esprit sweater, but buy it in an extra large. And then add shoulder pads! I also associate the 80's with ridiculously long fingernails, but that may be because I HAD ridiculously long fingernails.

you could reword "Everybody have fun tonight" by Wang Chung, and perhaps substitute "Everybody join us tonight" for "everybody wang chung tonight".

I still have my favorite Benetton sweater. It's not as big on me as it used to be. I'm kind of pissed in retrospect that I spent my best body years swathed in overlarge sweaters. Gigantic sweaters and tight leggings.

Also, OP - if you could find some jeans with zippered ankles....super 80's.

Finally, to me, it's not the 80's without Duran Duran. Sigh. What keeps coming to my mind is Rio: "Her name is (Greek letter)"

When I think of the 80's I think Madonna.

Lane swerving, I know, but yes, yes, yes.

I think you could do something awesome with Our House -- that was our anthem in the summer of 1983.
