Alpha Tau Omega has closed their University of Kentucky chapter.

Closure is due to violations of the fraternity's health and safety policies. The findings came out after an intoxicated pledge struck and killed a child with his vehicle.

Sigma Kappa, recolonizing at the University of Alabama, celebrated bid day Sunday, Sept. 23, 2018.
I've heard reports of a total of 150, 175, and 300 being pledged! Just wondering someone here had some accurate info.

Griffins&Quills 09-26-2018 06:40 PM

Hopefully it's 300!

APhi4Ever 09-26-2018 07:36 PM

I think the Sigma Kappa Facebook page shared a picture. I know it’s hard to count all the heads but it’s better than nothing.

I just printed the picture out and counted heads by dotting each face with a highlighter marker.

I counted 216.

It is entirely possible that they bid 250, but some girls could not make it to bid day.

FSUZeta 09-26-2018 08:06 PM

That's dedication Navane! I am impressed! It would never have dawned on me to do that.

True. I know of at least one who was at an already-planned memorial for her grandmother. They may also had some more over the next few days.

As we should know of course there are really ANTI Schools for Greeks. Will do anything to get them off of campus!:o

Before I get flamed, a LXA Chapter at NESU Oklahoma was suspended even though they did all that was asked of them and they later recended! Then kicked off of Campus.

My School PSU, Ks. LXA Chapter, MINE, was put on probation with school and National.

But, D B is gone for 5 yrs. My Chapter is back going full bore and growing even stronger!

My school works with Greeks while some do not!
But remember, when we screw up, then it comes down on all Greeks!

This chapter was closed by their inter/national organization, not the school. Most of the closures that are happening recently are done by the organizations themselves with the citing of chapters that are not abiding by rules set by them.

Sorry to disagree Kev but discussed this this with IHQ. They went to bat for the Chapter. School said no emphatically. Sorry won't go into why but it was upsetting.

I'm a little late on this, but many of you will remember the tale of Kappa Delta at Washington and Lee disaffiliating and becoming a local group called Delta Society.

Apparently there is now a local fraternity at Washington and Lee as well, formed in Spring 2018.
https://www.wlu.edu/student-life/stu...-organizations

I guess it's the former Phi Delta Theta chapter, which disaffiliated.
