Here's a thought...

Ever thought about being creative and writing your own speeches and poems?

I'm recruitment officer for my chapter, were getting ready for formal recruitment, before I begin a day of preparing them for the week, I want to read a pre written speech or long poem to them, to get them motivated. I'd write it but I'm not good at that haha.

If it's motivation you're trying to accomplish, it'll take more than a pre-written speech/poem to get that done.

Try Google. Not everything on GreekChat comes spoon-fed.

In my opinion, a pre-written speech or similar poem is not going to motivate anyone, in fact I would think it would actually make the whole recruitment experience seem fake the to the PNMs. My suggestion is to have one of your sisters that have strong speaking skills to give a heartfelt speech! When I was active, we always had a few girls do this, and some of our New Members told us that was what made the difference for them!

She wants the poem for her sisters, not the PNMs. She is trying to motivate her sisters to be ready for recruitment, to give them something to think about during those long hours of set-up/clean-up, membership selection, parties, practice, etc.

There is nothing wrong with a prewritten speech/poem. Plenty of prewritten material says exactly what someone wants to say, maybe even more eloquently. I'm sure writing a long speech/poem will take up what little time she has after she fulfills her duties as recruitment chairman and will probably unduly stress her out. I'm also sure this is not the only motivation activity she has planned.

I can't offer any suggestions right now, but I wish you luck during recruitment.
