As for me, I'm it! AOII all the way.
My husband is a Sigma Nu.
S-i-L is a Sigma Kappa.

That's it...no cousins went greek, and I would have "rushed" my cousin had she not gone to Siena College where there is no greek life. Oh well.:p

Me-Lambda Upsilon Lambda

I'm the first and only greek in my family..however I see my sis going Greek..eventually, and maybe my cousin when he gets to college.

My little sister's only in 4th grade, so I'll work on her going Greek

OMG! The women in your immediate family are as diversified as in mine! And like me, your mom probably used to dream that she'd start a dynasty of her own sorority...

ETA: OK, I thought I'd already put the affiliations on this thread.

Me: Pi Beta Phi
2 daughters, 5 nieces: Alpha Omicron Pi
2 daughters: Chi Omega
1 daughter: Zeta Tau Alpha
1 daughter is about to rush!
cousins: Kappa Kappa Gamma, Delta Zeta
cousins-in-law: Phi Mu, Delta Zeta, Alpha Gamma Delta, Zeta Tau Alpha
uncle: Sigma Alpha Epsilon
3 uncles-in-law: Kappa Sigma

TigerOwl 07-20-2007 09:18 PM

Thankfully we are very panhellenic in thinking, Carnation. It was more important to find the fit and then go greek!
I wore a sailor cap to the XO alumnae meeting, the night my daughter was at her first new member meeting at Delta Gamma. And yes, I own a tote bag that says, "Delta Gamma Mom!"

Oh, one thing I forgot---all were at different universities!!!

SWTXBelle 07-20-2007 09:26 PM

Carnation - what was/is your mom?

carnation 07-20-2007 09:58 PM

My mom fell in love with a poor medical student and opted to put my dad through med school rather than go to college!

TigerOwl, sometimes it's so weird to be Panhellenic. Most "mom" shirts I have have the organization's name much bigger than the word "mom" so I feel like a perp. I thought maybe it was just me but I wore one shirt to work and forgot and one of our counselors jumped in front of me and started doing a Chi O cheer from her university (she's a Tri Delt).:confused:I guess I looked confused and she said, "You're a Chi O, right?" and I told her Pi Phi and she got a good look at the shirt and almost crawled away.

Then you have to get used to the other org's symbols being around...as I'm typing this, I can see a panda on the hall bookshelf, a cross stitched owl waiting to be framed, and a Zeta ice chest. Or there was the phone call where someone screamed, "Hootie HOO!" into the phone when I answered, then realized I wasn't Ballerina, lol.

So we're wondering if daughter #6 will pledge yet another group...

Even though I'm sure you'll be happy with whatever sorority she joins: Any chance you might get your Pi Phi this time?

TigerOwl 07-20-2007 10:11 PM

Carnation! I also forgot to tell you! I put up two trees during the winter holiday!
The one in the back of the house is my Panhellenic/IFC/University Tree! It's been alot of fun! Dolphins, Owls, White Crosses, crests, symbols, university mascots. Yes, it's all there. Up for only 2 to 3 weeks a year, but has lots of memories of visiting those campuses and the chapter houses!
For your daughter #6, my wish is that she has fun and laughter during recruitment and finds the sisterhood of a lifetime!
