Officer Dangle Question

Hey all - quick question. How do you attach your officer dangles to your chapter guard? I thought that you just string the dangle onto the chain, but I have also heard of people "securing" them so that if the chain breaks, you don't lose the dangles.

Thanks!

I strung the dangles onto the chain (as you describe), but if the links of the chain were large enough, you could attach the dangle to one of the links in the middle.

The badge & guard are difficult enough to put on straight -- not sure if having the dangles in a set place would help or hurt!

Each one of my dangles are hooked through a link in my guard... if that makes sense!

hahaa. I thought this was a Reno 911 thread.

mine are just on the loose on the chain;i.e. they can slide up and down between the chapter guard and my badge.

When did you all get your chapter guards? After you get dangles?

KyleMcGuire1983 06-08-2007 08:38 PM

I wish us fraternity men got to have some kind of recognition medals for positions held.

Trey_P-I_47 06-08-2007 08:48 PM

What do you mean by fraternity men getting to have Position 'pieces'. I thought officer dangles were a sort of widely accepted thing amongst everybody. I have seen several different GLOS that had officer dangles attached to their badge and guard. I guess it just depends on the organization or the chapter. If you want a gavel denoting that you were a President then I dont see who would really stop you if you were so inclined. Or am I way off and you were going along the lines of actual military type medals denoting position or what have you.
