Kevin, I just don't know, sorry. The mug shots of the arrestees posted on the SmokingGun web site show a lot of t-shirts. Many of the discussions on GC about "top tier" and the like seemed, at least in the past, to have focused on "collared shirts." (Also brands of shoes, but the SmokingGun doesn't show those.) But who knows; maybe things are different at Vanderbilt, or maybe t-shirts are appropriate attire for the kind of event that was going on.

Rowdy behavior and fireworks? I don't know that a charter will be pulled for that - I guess we'll have to wait and see.

I would bet they'll be fine.

1. It's only drinking on an out of town trip. Who cares? (Also the likelihood that it wasn't an official fraternity function)

2. That's a big money chapter.

And yes, I think they're top-tier. Not completely up to date on my Vanderbilt tiers, but I've met a few and would guess that they are. And as was pointed out, I wouldn't be wearing a polo, chinos and boat shoes on a rafting trip either.

Earlier in the semester, Sigma Chi international fraternity was placed on probation for a risk management violation.

I guess once bitten, twice shy didn't really strike them as good advice.

Vandy Sigma Chi is far from top tier. The top tier is SAE and Kappa Alpha. Beta and DKE are also good and a few others but Sigma Chi isn't even close.
