I am the current philantropy chair for my sorority and me and the PR chair this semester would like to plan a big event to help get out our name out. We want to do something big and then donate the money raised but we are unsure of what to do and how to get the campus involved. If anyone has any ideas I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

We do a philanthropy week every year with a different event every day. Usually the dodgeball tournament has the best turnout and makes the most money. Something that we talked about doing this year is a car show and getting people from the community to bring their cars and pay an entrance fee to show them. And then charging people to come to the show as well.

We broke a world record for the largest twister game ( www.worldrecordtwister.com). It got some local press and we made it into HQ's newsletter. A lot of work, but so much fun.

You guys are freaking amazing! I just watched the video for it. So cool!

So, this can't really compare with TKE's twister mat, but it's a similar idea. A big memorable event is a great way to go. My boyfriend's fraternity built a gigantic teeter tot. Every year in May, they take turns riding it up and down for 48 hours at the base of campus. They collect money to help battered women (I'm pretty sure that's it). The structure of the teeter tot has NOTHING to do with aiding battered women, but it attracts attention and people always expect it to be there every year.

Try this... www.charitydenim.com (http://www.charitydenim.com) Its an awesome nonprofit company that will come and help you put on a designer denim sale. We just had one for my sorority and it was amazing. Message me if you have any questions!
