Which NPC Organizations are Fraternities and which are Sororities?

Does anyone know offhand which NPC organizations consider themselves to be fraternities and which consider themselves to be sororities? I recently heard that Delta Zeta is the only "sorority" in the NPC but that didn't sound right to me.

BTW, this would have been on the Greek Life board but I can't access the darn thing!

Alpha Gamma Delta is a Women's Fraternity...and I know that Gamma Phi Beta is a Sorority because the actual term was coined for them. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif

Chi Omega is also a fraternity. I am not really sure of the difference.

well, on my campus Delta Zeta is the only "sorority"...so, these all are women's fraternities:

Alpha Gamma Delta
Alpha Xi Delta
Alpha Sigma Tau
Sigma Delta Tau
Sigma Kappa
Sigma Sigma Sigma
Phi Sigma Sigma

I thought Tri Sigma was a sorority, but I could be wrong. What exactly defines a sorority in official terms?

I know that Zeta Tau Alpha is a fraternity.

These are the NPC groups that refer to themselves as:

Gamma Phi Beta (the word sorority was coined for them)
Delta Zeta
Sigma Kappa
Kappa Delta
Sigma Sigma Sigma (I think....website copyright says "sorority" on it)
Alpha Sigma Tau

How to check/verify this? Go to the group's HQ website and the home page should say the name in full:
i.e. Gamma Phi Beta Sorority
i.e. Phi Mu Fraternity
