What is your personality type? www.keirsey.com/ (http://www.keirsey.com/)
Take tempermen sorter test II

This is an online personality test that has a strong correlation with the Myers-Briggs inventory.

It provides a certain perspective on personality that can be useful in understanding both yourself and the people you work and play with.

Try taking the 70 question version, and if you feel like it post the results. I always find it interesting to see what other personality types people have, especially officers.

Its been really useful for me also at times when dealing with people to have a certain inkling of where they might be coming from given their type.

I am an idealist/teacher. I work at a Montessori school- so thats a good thing, and during the summer I work at a camp where I am a teacher/camp counselor- so that was pretty accurate. BUT, i am a MIS major, not education!

I forgot to post my results . . .

I am an ENTP/ENTJ . . .
Inventor/Field Marshall

I score really close on the thinking (t) feeling (f) and close on the Perceiving (p) judging (j) and depending on my mood can go either way.

I have become more field marshall like during my tenure as chapter president (over 2.5 years) and it helps.

But at rest I tend to be more Entp/Enfp . . .

Its kind of interesting how your score can change over time as you change because of your experiences.

I sometimes find it useful when dealing with people if I know there temperment.

For example, I have found many of the people that have supervisor personalities to be quick to make decisions and not necessarily interested in raising the quality of their knowledge or skills. This is a generalization of course http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif

Unfortunately this type loves to run for office as well as a couple other personality types http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif

I'm a Guardian/Protector.
"their shyness is often misjudged as stiffness, even coldness, when in truth Protectors are warm-hearted and sympathetic, giving happily of themselves to those in need."
That is totally true. I hate when people assume I'm a snob, or mean, just because I don't talk a lot. I'm more than willing to help anyone, I am just reserved about it.

I wanted to bump this to the top, give myself another post to start catching up with you truly prolific posters and send you a little personality hint . . . for those that don't already know.

90%of the time we develop romantic attachments to our opposites, what Jung called our shadow self (our unlived selves), and this would work out fine if we didn't spend 90% of the time trying to change them from what attracted us to them, into ourselves! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/rolleyes.gif

10% of the time we are attracted to our Like type, which seems to work rather well and I speculate that this may be more common when one or both partners have spent more time living that unrealized self than would be considered normal.

Ah but what are opposites? It has nothing to do with whether one person likes to be home watching movies or out dancing . . . or pizza vs. health food.
www.kiersey.com (http://www.kiersey.com) travel around the site a bit and I'll fill you in later. Don't forget to take the temperment sorter II its a little more involved.

The theory actually works a little better as help aid than say Zodic signs . . .

I am an NF Idealist, which fits well.

With Jungian tests, I am usually an INFJ or INTJ. Recently I was categorized as an ENTP! Like, whoa! The ENTP does fit my future career as a professor, though.

Here's mine :

Your Temperament is: Guardian (SJ)

Your Free Temperament Description

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

All Guardians (SJs) share the following core characteristics:

Guardians pride themselves on being dependable, helpful, and hard-working.
Guardians make loyal mates, responsible parents, and stabilizing leaders.
Guardians tend to be dutiful, cautious, humble, and focused on credentials and traditions.
Guardians are concerned citizens who trust authority, join groups, seek security, prize gratitude, and dream of meting out justice.
Guardians are the cornerstone of society, for they are the temperament given to serving and preserving our most important social institutions. Guardians have natural talent in managing goods and services--from supervision to maintenance and supply--and they use all their skills to keep things running smoothly in their families, communities, schools, churches, hospitals, and businesses.

Guardians make up as much as 40 to 45 percent of the population.

The four types of Guardians are:

Inspectors (ISTJ) | Protectors (ISFJ) | Providers (ESFJ) | Supervisors (ESTJ)

In the past my main combo was ESTJ.......I have the papers for it in my file cabinet along with the rest of my work from a class I took where they administered the same tests.

I've taken tests like these before.......

In some of my blow off classes-----( Social science course) like College success, Leadership I and II and the like, we had to take these types of tests......

This past summer I was also an academic advisor, I did it volunteerly since I had community service handed out to me by the awesome state of Florida. As an advisor these are some of the tests I made the individuals take.......They were the PUM I and a few others.....

I'm glad to see that they are actually online now, before they were only available as a program.

I a class last semester and we actually did this test on paper, so I pulled out my results (yes I'm that much of a paper queen)

I'm an ESTJ

Practicle realists, matter-of-fact, with a natural head for business or mechanics. Not interested in subjects they see no use for, but can apply themselves when necessary. Like to organize and run activities. Tend to run things well, especially if they remeber to consider other peoples feelings and points of view when making their decisions.

Live their outer life more with thinking, inner more with sensing.
