Yee-Haawww! Its really closed -- any bets on why...or does anyone know the REAL scoop?

I know that we all (well a lot of us if we'll all admit it) have checked in on that site at least somewhat regularly (as evidenced by posts in other unrelated threads) and I'm just curious as to who knows or *thinks* they know why.

Oh yeah - the "thumbs up" sign is because its closed....NOT because I like the site (which obviously I don't http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif)!

for those of us relative newbies....please share. what is/was followers.com. even though i get the general gist by the name. what was the deal with it exactly?

It was a site for a movie that was released last year. It had a "hazing" chat board with it that just got out of hand (my opinion) with really lewd remarks about fraternities and sororities.

I saw it was closed down too - yipee!!!!!

AXO Alum- I wonder too how/who closed it- it never seemed to have anyone moderating it.

I have to admit, after Mrs. BV sent that threatening email to me I felt compelled to go to that site to see what was going on. Though I have never ever posted on that site, it was interesting to see if there was any new developments concerning "the incident down South".

I was so happy to see it shut down...and I also noticed that not until recently was the site moderated. I thought the IP address listing was wonderful and it did cut down on the number of posts by our favorite Greeks.

May followers.com (and similar message boards for that matter) be and remain closed!!!!

I TOTALLY agree with AXO Alum! I'm soooooo very happy that site is down. I didn't know it was closed until I saw a post about it in Greek Life. I haven't checked that site in months now so I was glad to hear it was closed. It was just turning so filthy!
I can only imagine who closed it...but that's another subject we don't need to discuss!

OOO I agree! I did spend one afternoon there reading all the "V" posts... SO GLAD its gone! We don't need that kind of negativity in the greek community.
