Kirk Named Delta Upsilon Executive Director

Indianapolis, Ind. - May 24, 2007 — Delta Upsilon Fraternity Chairman William L. Messick, Lafayette ’68 announced today that Justin J. Kirk has been named the Fraternity’s 10th Executive Director, effective immediately.

As Executive Director, Kirk will be responsible for the day-to-day operation and management of the Fraternity, as well as providing visionary direction for the Fraternity’s educational and leadership initiatives.

“Justin is the perfect choice to lead the staff in support of our mission and initiatives. With the implementation of a new strategic plan, having his experience and knowledge of the fraternity world will be of tremendous benefit to our Fraternity,” said Messick. “I am extremely excited to have someone of his caliber join the staff and have the utmost confidence in his abilities. He possesses sound judgment, is well-connected in the interfraternal network and has a desire to make Delta Upsilon the best that it can be.”

Kirk has more than seven years experience working in the fraternity industry. Most recently, he served as Director of Programs for Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity, overseeing their educational initiatives and communications outreach. Previously, he spent nearly four years on the staff of his fraternity, Sigma Tau Gamma, as Associate Vice President and Editor. He is experienced in the areas of programming, leadership development, communications and fraternity management.

A 2000 graduate of the University of Nebraska-Kearney, Kirk has degrees in Public Relations and Sports Administration. He has been involved with North American Interfraternity Conference (NIC) educational programs, the Association of Fraternity Advisors (AFA) and the American Leadership Academy (ALA). He currently serves as a Board member and Treasurer of Sigma Tau Gamma Fraternity, as well as Vice President of the College Fraternity Editors Association (CFEA).

Established in 1834, Delta Upsilon is a men’s college fraternity with 83 chapters and colonies chapters across the United States and Canada. The Fraternity, founded at Williams College in Williamstown, Massachusetts, is the oldest, non-secret, Greek-letter society. More than 110,000 men have joined the organization since its founding nearly 175 years ago.
