Huge drop today, might be the correction everyone has been waiting for.

I'm personally gonna wait and see how this shakes out, but anybody have ideas about what a play on this might be?

China's markets tanked today - they were down around 9%. After this news, pretty much all the other world markets were off. The Dow fell 416 points. My portfolio is not looking very happy right now. :(

The jury's still out on whether this is a normal correction or the start of a larger collapse. I will wait and see.

Would this be why my gas prices jumped 20 cents? Freaking hell.

Do cows count? I bought cows off of my parents to see what raising cattle was like / see if I could make some money. I bought two, I now have three, and so far I’m in the hole.

I am completely ignorant when it comes to investing money. I have money in two companies, each petroleum related. I invested in them for two reasons. The first is that they are the companies which handle all of our oil and natural gas stuff. The second is that they are very small companies in the oil business even though they profit hundreds of million each year. Companies like Exxon-Mobile gobble these small companies up left and right.

Anyway, for whatever reason, together they raised 5% today!

Does anyone have any recommendations of books to read on investing?

Probably my favorite investing book has been "One Up on Wall St" by Peter Lynch. The Warren Buffet Way is another good one.

Nothing to be concern about, this correction is needed. The Asian market were riped for a huge correction. Hang Seng needed this drop, which happen when it should've happen, right after Gong Xi Fat Chai. Except hang seng to go bear this month, testing it's resistance at 18500. April, you'll see hang seng recover greatly and break the 21000 mark.

I like how my response to Rudey after calling my father poor and gay was deleted. Dumbshit moderators.

Let me guess, you were a huge investor in Chinese market equities right? I mean you were going real long and then your account blew up right? Stop pretending. If you were an average investor in the US you barely felt it after the week was over. And how much did I lose? I lost a bit on the first day and by the end of the week I was up. Now go program a computer or something.

I lost a bit on monday and went short before the end of the market day. Expect the market to test 19000 this week, even 18500 by wednesday. Decided to go back long on the banking sector while not entering the other sectors.

Playing around with the yen and the rupiah.
