I saw one of the last shows of their 83-84' tour at the U of I Assembly Hall. On the whole, not a great show. The bands relationship was quite strained at that point and the performance suffered. Now the July 83' show at Comiskey Park was great!! What a new wave festival that was. As I remember the show bill was Ministry, A Flock of Seagulls, The Fixx, Simple Minds and The Police headlining. I kinda remember Joan Jett playing and she got booed off the stage.
After 20+ years apart they sounded great at the Grammys.

They need to get a little closer than NYC & Toronto. Although if that coincided with our planned summer trip to NYC that would be beyond awesome...

Granted, I wouldn't consider myself a fan, but wow was their performance lackluster last night. If they don't perk up and put a little more into it, perhaps Valium should be a tour sponsor.

The Grammys have become a joke.......I wouldn't have wanted that to be my first performance, maybe that had something to do with it.

The '83 Comiskey Park show was my first concert ever! My dad got dragged along with one other father and 6 girls. Fun concert! Scott, I think you're right and Joan Jett did get booed off the stage. The Police were my favorite band, so I hope I'll be able to see them this summer!

They will be in NOLA, June 30th. I could end up being the only spot in the Arena. Oh no. Their background singers will be there. So 3 of us. :D ;) :o

My one and only Police show was 11/6/03 at Rupp Arena, during the Synchronicity tour. I think I spent the entire show staring at glory that is Stewart Copeland. Needless to say, I cursed the camera operators last night for showing almost all Sting and next to nothing of Stewart and Andy.
Tourdate info at various places, most notably http://www.thepolicetour.com (http://www.thepolicetour.com/)
They're in Phoenix a week before I'll be there. The closest date so far is in St. Louis, and of course I'll be flying home from Phoenix that day. I'm seriously bummed...
