How long was your sorority a local before you got picked up by your national? If you haven't been picked up yet, how long have you been waiting?

My local sorority has been together now for about 10 months. We are hoping to get national soon. How can we make this process faster for us?

thanks

Our campus has five local sororities, and for some reason, none of them had much desire to go national. After like nearly 40 years, one is finally going Theta Phi Alpha. I guess it can take awhile for everyone to get on board with the idea of going national and such.

Kappa Gamma Chi (Emerson College, Boston, MA) has been local since 1902! We are celebrating our 100 year anniversary this upcoming year! We have no intent of going national.

My chapter of Alpha Phi was Alpha Phi Gamma for 15 years before going national.

Kappa Lambda Psi was founded with the intent of being the 27th sorority to join the NPC. We have been in existance for 23 years now.

The Sisterhood of Kappa Alpha Tau was founded in the Spring of 1995. We're very happy as a local and have no plans to go national. We love our little family and we love being Greeks!!

Best wishes to everyone this coming year!! :)

well when my chapter was originally founded it was founded as Alpha Phi Epsilon local sorority in 1950 and then it affiliated with AEPhi in 1954. 20 years after our chapter went inactive in 1991 a group of women founded a local sorority named Kappa Psi and then affiliated with AEPhi about a year later.

Phi Chi was founded in 1996 to affiliate with a particular org, but that didn't happen. They're still hoping for affiliation, but are open to other orgs.

My local sorority was a local for just under two years. Founded in spring 1993, colonized by AEPhi in winter 1995, chartered in November 1995.

My sorority will celebrate its 8th anniversary of founding on November 21. We are trying to expand to other schools. However, we were originally founded to become a chapter of Alpha Epsilon Phi. For some reason, it didn't happen. We tried to become another national, still didn't happen. We regrouped to form a local with aspirations to go national. The first step is to get that Beta chapter off the ground!

too bad ESP wasn't able to form a chapter of AEPhi - it would have been so nice to another chapter nearby but it's great that you are going to being celebrating your eight year anniversary. Congratulations!
