I do remember both of those shows, and another favorite of mine was The White Shadow....there was also this show that came on PBS called Up and Coming...don't ask me who was in it because I only remember one person who was L. Wolf Perry who also went on to be on the White Shadow towards the end of it's run.

Okay why did she mention "Up and Coming." I loved that show with Cindy Herron from En Vogue and I think Laurence Fishburne played her friend. I have been trying to find reruns of that show for years.

Yes, Up & Coming is a classic....
How bout - - - Welcome back Kotter!!!
sing along : Welcome back, your dreams were your ticket out.
Welcome back, to that same old place that you laughed about.
Well the names have all changed since you hung around,
But those dreams have remained and they're turned around.
Who'd have thought they'd lead ya (Who'd have thought they'd lead ya) Here where we need ya (Here where we need ya)
Yeah we tease him a lot cause we've got him on the spot, welcome back, welcome back, welcome back, welcome back.

Yet another thread right up my alley!!! :D
Okay, I was just coming into existence in the 70's, so I'll fast forward to some shows I miss from the 90's (too many favs to name in the 80's, my decade :p):
Frank's Place (despite critical acclaim, some said it was "before its time"...what a shame :()
City of Angels (yes, the TV show, not the movie)
Under One Roof (starring Soror Vanessa Bell Calloway; another excellent, short-lived Black drama; I remember signing a petition to keep it on the air when I was at Spelman)
I'll Fly Away (with Soror Regina Taylor)
Others = Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, New York Undercover, Homicide: Life on the Street,......
That's all for now...will have to think of more later...

I remember watching Mork and Mindy on Nick and Nite! (Nanoo Nanoo or whatever it was he used to say LOL)
Nick at Nite was my favorite! I used to watch The Patty Duke Show, Mr. Ed, Dobbie Gillis, and The Dick Van Dyke Show, etc.
I'm lame....I admit it.
