I went shopping at an antique store today and I got a gorgeous cup and saucer set. The stamp on the bottom says M&R Made in France. Is there anywhere I can look to try and find out more about the cup and saucer?

Thanks!

That site didn't have it. Oh well, I still love what I got even if I can't find anything about it! Thanks for the help!

Check replacements.com (http://www.replacements.com) . They have some stuff listed as M&R France (http://replacements.com/china/manu/m.htm).

Nope, not there either. Maybe my little piece is too old? Thanks for looking though :)

For any markings on glass, china, or pottery, I would try a book by Ralpha and Terry Kovel. They're the foremost experts in the area.

The only problem is that they've had dozens of books, and don't distribute the information online (that I know of). They also go back to the 1700's.

Thanks! I'll give that a try :)

My mother used to get that!! We actually did go to an auction advertised in it - and it turned out to be the estate of a family friend's parents!

They advertised it as "Over 500 Hats Alone!" and it was so much fun. I ended up doing a paper on it for a journalism class.

Oh, and it's RALPH Kovel, not Ralpha! I should have corrected it immediately - sorry!
