What sparked your attention? What attracted you to it?

I was introduced to our wonderful organization by someone right here on GC. When I was reseaching different sororities, I met and became friends with a person who would later on become one of the first people to pledge GAP. I looked over the website and liked our tennets and the rest is history.

Good topic!

Back in my early collegiate years, I didn't consider joining a sorority. The only one I had even begun to consider was Pi Beta Phi because I'm a legacy but, at the time, I wasn't going to a school that had a chapter (my school had only two sororities, period).

As I became more familiar with GLOs, I became very impressed with two in particular.

When I finally transferred to UGA, I already had a lot of Greek knowledge and began checking things out...feeling the waters. It was not until I decided to go to UGA that I really began thinking about pursuing a sorority. Before transferring, I began looking into sororities that promoted diversity and came upon multicultural sororities.

I initiated the colonization of a multicultural sorority at UGA, but that ended in disaster due to a lack of honesty on the part of the sorority and a lack of tolerance for foolishness on mine.

When I had begun looking into multicultural sororities, Theta Nu Xi had been at the top of my list, but colonization couldn't happen at UGA until much later - at least until after I had already graduated, it seemed. That's why I originally accepted my third choice sorority to initiate colonization. That was a huge mistake and I am ever grateful to Theta Nu Xi for being understanding about why I had previously been somewhat affiliated with another multicultural sorority.

To answer the original question in short: I first came across Theta Nu Xi in 2000-2001 when I began my earnest search for a multicultural sorority.

I like this topic, sands!!
