It's come to my attention that there are some people who don't have that inborn sense of when it is time to step away from the computer. Maybe we can help them come up wiht a list of when it's time.

(1) when you're having to dig up threads that are more than 6 months old in order to post b/c you've already responded to all of the current threads;

(2) when you are the only one replying to threads you started;

(3) when you add no substance to the threads in which you are posting; and

(4) when your responses look like you googled the topic of the thread and then posted about the top 10 sites that came up in your search.

Everyone in this thread should take a look at their amount of posts - that should be enough to tell you to step away from GC for a while.

When you have 900 identities and you're not trying to be funny.

When you start a thread that has no significance whatsoever, :p Just kidding! :)

I'm definitely one of the ones that needs to learn to step away.... My daily rate just keeps creeping higher and higher. It's just so much easier to come on here for hours instead of opening up my dreaded physiology or world history book.

To add to the list....
When you see people and you remember/refer to them by their screen name (not that I know anyone like that...) :rolleyes:

It's one thing to have 10,000 posts when you've been on GC for 6 years. It's another to have 10,000 posts when you've been on GC for 6 days.

As with anything else - when it starts interferring with your life. That point can vary from person to person.
