Hey all! The Kappa Sigma chapter at CSULB had their house re-modeled by Monster House in October but the episode airs on the Discovery channel tonight for anyone interested in watching. Here's a link to the article that appeared on the Cal State Long Beach website. Enjoy! The house is amazing from what I hear.

EDIT: I forgot to mention that they are no longer on campus though. Shortly after the build, they lost their charter.

Nice... except for the part that they lost their charter right after.

My bf watches that show religiously. I'm sure he won't mind me watching with him.

Supposedly, the house will be used when the fraternity returns to the school. Despite the chapter losing its charter, I still got an email on the listserve about this show.

To those who saw it, how nice was the house?

I thought it turned out pretty well. We didn't get to see their living quarters, but I think they did a classy job overall.

The kitchen still lacks something, but it's clean and useable, so whatever.

I must say that the stage and DJ booth were TIGHT as well as the BBQ pit. However there just seemed like too many small things all over the place that I can TOTALLY see getting destroyed at a random party. I'm also curious how much weight the deck could hold.

But even though everything was sort of randomly put together, each room was really neat.

With an unlimited budget, they did quite a job on the house.

The four or five brothers who got to view the remodeled house didn't impress me, though, and acted like real rubes.

I suspect they will need another remodeling in six months, or at least a big dumpster.

I think that they asked the guys to really act up. Not only that, but I believe they wanted to try to play off some stereotypical views of frat guys but the guys didn't want to. They still live at the house though & from what I hear, it still looks fine.
