I agree that war-time internment camps are a neccessary part of providing a better national security policy.
Ms. Malkin's book isn't really "recent" though. i think she could've found a more tactful way to phrase that last quote the article uses.

While I personally feel that the terrorist bastards should be incarcerated in some remote island with no due process, keeping tabs on the Islamic (or any ethnic or religious) community for perceived signs of possible sedition or treason against the United States is a very bad idea.

Internment camps are highly counterproductive, as are special identification systems targeted at Muslims. Part of the War on Terror is PR. We're not exactly winning this facet yet, and using WWII methods will hurt us far more than it will help us.
