Tapestries, Banners and Crests

I am planning on making a tapestry for my frat room, and i was wondering if anyone had any good ideas on how to do this with quality and style. Im planning on using an old bath towel with spray paint and house paint. I have also painted a sign above our door in this same manner. thanks for your suggestions, but i will have probably made this tapestry by the time i check back here. i still would like to hear h others have done this. (?)

YOU CAN USE FELT AND STENCILS AND GET A HOT GLUE GUN TO MAKE A NICE BANNER AND IT WON'T BE AS MESSY AS THE PANT~
