Hello!
I am currently the President of the Petioning Group @ HU. While we are still collecting all of our monies so that we can turn in our stuff to be officially recognized as the Alpha Eta Reactivating Colony, we have already brgun doing community service projects, and have a week of service and programs planned for March 22-27th.

The Howard University Petitioning Group Would like to Welcome you to our Women's Empowerment Week, 2004
Monday March 22
Blue Ribbon Week Kick-off- Blue ribbons will be distributed at the Howard University Blackburn Center between 11AM and 4PM. The ribbons should be worn all week as an outward demonstration against Women's Abuse
Tuesday March 23
Movie Night- Join the Petitiong Group as we celebrate sisterhood and triumph by watching "The Women of Brewster's Place". Bethune Annex, 6:30 PM Light refreshments will be served
Wednesday March 24
Jeopardy- Test your skills and learn about important women in history by coming to compete in our Jeopardy Game night! Prizes will be given out to the winners. Light snacks will be served. Bethune Annex 6:30PM
Thursday March 25
Rape and Abuse Forum- Join us as we educate and spread awareness about rape, molestation, and other sexual crimes in a forum hosted along with Campus Police, the DC Rape Hotline, and brave rape survivors. Refreshments will be served. Bethune Annex 6:30 PM
Friday March 26
Informational- What is Gamma Sigma Sigma, and why are we trying to affliate with it? Refreshemnts will be served. 6:30 PM Bethune Annex
Saturday March 27
Community Service- Meet at the Chemistry Building @ 8:15AM
Group Dinner-6:00PM @Uno's

Well, our week was a success!
We would like to thank everyone who came out and those who were cheering for us from afar!
BUT ITS NOT OVER!!
Today we volunteered with the Special Olympics, and we have a few more projects and program sin store for the remaining month of school!

WE, the Howard University Petitioning Group, would like to announce our fundraiser "Candy Gift Glasses".
What is it: A decorative glass (goblet or flute for ladies, mug for guys) with your organizational colors, letters, year, etc., filled with various candies and wrappen in cellophane tided with decorative ribbons.
How much is it: 1 for $3, 2 for $5, 3 for $7

The last day to request an order is April 23rd.
Any orders of 5 or more glasses MUST be prepaid, and please allow one day for every 10 glasses ordered...
so far we have sold glasses to Iota Rho Chapter, Delta Sigma Pi, Delta Nu Chapter, Sigma Slpha Iota, a local Women's Organization, Eta Delta Chapter, Tau Beta Sigma...with orders coming in every day!

On behalf of the Ladies of Alluring Essence, the Alpha Eta Reactivating Colony of THE Gamma Sigma Sigma National Service Sorority, I would liek to thank everyone (especially Sharon and Ranita!!) for all of their help and support through out the past 3 months! We haev already begunto map out activities for the fall, and we cannot wait to finish the rechartering process!!
