Has anyone had botox or collagen injections? If so, did they work for you? Did you have side effects? How expensive were they? How did you find a doctor or clinic? How often do you maintain your injections?
PM me. I am seriously considering having one or the other done.
Thanks!

I've never had either, but my older sister had Botox injections before her wedding. Personally, I couldn't tell that big of a different, but I tend to be oblivious to a LOT of things! :D As far as I know, she never had any complications or bad experiences, nor has anyone else I know.

My daddy had Botox injections, but for a health problem. The major downside is that it causes minor paralysis in parts of your face. I heard recently that so many Hollywood stars have found that they can no longer smile or otherwise "emote" the way they would like, as a result of Botox. FWIW, my father could not control his saliva afterwards. I'm very uncomfortable with the thought of allowing live botulism in my body, though!
I don't know much about collagen. I've heard that it can harden, but I don't know anyone who's had it.
Has anyone tried that "1-2-3 Facelift"? Supposedly, you put a cream on your face, then pull it up as it you would in a facelift, and it stays there for up to 8 hours. I'm very interested in that - but I'm also saving for the real thing now, so I have the money when I need it!

Honeychile,
I thought that the Botox injection was a protein derivative not the actual bacterium??? Where was your father injected so that he could not control his saliva? Did it go away after a few months?
:)

Silver, he got the injections in his face. It was in the early stages of Botox, and he had to sign that he realized what he was getting. He had freon poisoning, which had caused a brain stem problem, and this was considered a last resort. He never did regain complete control over his saliva, but I won't swear that it was just the Botox.
I'm sure the information that you would be getting will be much more up to date, though.
Good luck! :)
