Ok, so am I the only dork on the boards that watched this? Talk about too much pink. She's like Barbie.

Any that bachelor party looks like it could be fun!

I watched it!

It looks very interesting, to say the very least. Her obsession with all things pink would annoy me to no end, though. Of course, I will watch the next couple of episodes ;)

Good deal, glad it wasn't just me....kinda odd that Russ is there...I wonder if it bothers Ryan that he was all over Trista like a$$ on a toilet seat for a while.

Part of me is jealous because I would love to be able to blow that kind of money AND get paid a million bucks to have my wedding on TV...and the other part of me says no thanks.

I am licking my chops in anticipation at next week's "Bachelor Party" episode. If Ryan disappears for a while, that means he doesn't want to be found (which bodes pretty badly, IMO).

Yea so I flipped to this during a commercial break in The OC and I was like WTF is this nonsense? Poor Ryan is so manly and all that pink. GAH, pink is my favorite color but no way in hell is it going to be in my wedding. And those invitations!!!  I'd be so embarassed to even send those ridiculous things out!!

On a random note, I usually think Ryan is fairly attractive but he just looked awful last night! Was that just me or did anybody else think so??

Could this be an AChiO thing? I don't know what their colors are.

I was watching an interview with them and what happens is that the strippers try to get Ryan to do a triple kiss with him. He figures out that the producers set this up to try and create drama, so he gets mad, throws his mic off and tries to lose the cameras. In the interview he said that he was just fed up with the production staff always trying to create drama.

Yeah Ryan and Trista were talking about the bachelor party drama on The View the other day... should be interesting, and why was Trista looking for Ryan at his bachelor party?

Last week they were on Oprah and they showed what went on with the bachelor party....two of Trista's friends went over to spy about what was going on with the guys, and then came up with the great idea to go back and announce to the rest of the group that they should go find out what the guys were up to...when they got there is when Trista found out Ryan was missing

Yes, I'm watching all the episodes of this...I'm actually taping them so I can watch it again and again! :D

By any chance, is there a link? I didn't see it, and I did mean to catch at least a few minutes of it.

I made the people at work watch this with me, but we actually had to work during some parts of it.

Out of curiousity, did anyone catch what Trista said when asked where they first had sex? Ryan said they hadn't yet, but I missed Trista's answer. Just wondering.

I stumbled onto this train wreck. I just want to see how trashy/insane of a wedding ABC is willing to pay for a fiasco.

doesnt compare to extreme makeover!

I'm sorry but the wedding invitations would have been the last straw for me (if I were Ryan). A wedding is an event that should represent the couple...not just one person. Guys should have input and say, and ladies should listen. I mean, it's his day too afterall

So did anyone watch the actual wedding tonight? I caught the last 10 minutes of it, and from what I saw it was all pink, and completely gaudy/tacky. Ick.

And all you could hear were helicopters flying around during the ceremony. Nice.....

When do you think ABC will be airing the "Trista and Ryan Divorce Special"??

jess_pom
12-11-2003, 01:45 AM
I saw the first 50 minutes, on and off, darn job! But then of course, we had to go into the news... "Because at 10 it's news, at 11, it's HISTORY!" Thanks FOX 43.

All I have to say is, I'm jealous! I wish I could have a $4 million dollar wedding. I don't think it's tacky if it's what you really want.

And, I do hope Trista and Ryan make it... I really like them together.

Yes, I'll admit to watching the Trista & Ryan Wedding but I'm also a sucker for the weddings on TLC...But for $4million dollars spent there are some things that just made me go WTF:

Trista's stepmom wore white...

Having a flutist and pianist play Canon in D (precessional music) they could of afforded to have an orchestra.

The whole symbolism of those two mixing sand together in a vase. I just didn't get it. But I have a feeling this will be copied by
alot of trendy brides.

I have to admit I thought it was funny and I felt bad at the same time the helicopters going overhead.

And so for the reception. I think watching the battle over who gets the bridal bouqet and garter would have made for some laughs.

I think the fact that there's no pre-nup will make it very interesting. For the divorce court special. Sometimes promises of forever are broken.

And I think there'll be lots of "Trista shoes" out in the spring in time for the spring/summer wedding season and the prom!!! I too thought that the wedding had too, too, too much pink!!!!!!! Also, what was with the cake? I always thought that a wedding cake had to have white frosting, not brown chocolate. I can understand chocolate on a separate groom's cake, but on the actual wedding cake (even though it was half of it)? Not something I've ever seen.

WHAT was that? It just seemed like something that was made up...the minister was like, "I've got some sand!" and Trista seemed all excited about it. I didn't get it.

You know, I honestly couldn't tell (but, all I watched was the ceremony) how much money was spent on it. It just looked like everything had been hosed down in Pepto.

all i can say is that that guy Brad Paseley is pretty hot with that hat on. and the boy can sing. dayum :p

here was an awful lot of pink. i don't like the pink chairs - its just too much. I love all of the flowers and the brodemaid dresses too :) I did like her wedding dress, but i know i couldn't pull it off! If i had 4 million to spend on a wedding, i totally would!!

Ugh.

Too. Much. Pink.

I am a sucker for pink, but I would have NEVER gone that far overboard with one color.

It reminds me of a quote..

"All the money in the world does not compensate for good taste."

The sand thing is supposed to be the new unity candle or some such thing. I get it, but I still think it's dumb. If I am not going to have a unity candle, I sure as heck am not going to have the "unity sand."

Personally, I can't wait for the Trista and Ryan Divorce Special! I just hope one of the reasons he divorces her is for that stupid baby talk crap she pulls all the time.

Too much pink!

Weird-ass cake!

Bob and Estella were there...hrmmmm!

With all this talk of pink, my mind automatically goes to.... Steel Magnolias!!

Brad Paisley sang?!?! That's so cool! Too bad I missed that. Hes is really hot, even without the hat. He's married to Kimberly Williams from Father of the Bride and According to Jim.

(And another Steel Magnolia reference) was the wedding sponsored by Pepto-Bismol?

Thank God I had tivo'd it - I fast forwarded through so much of it!

Anyway, I had a dream last night & Ryan was in it (before his wedding). He wanted me....but I had to break it to him that I was already married.

Woohoo... he is a beautiful man!

Trista is attractive too, but in a "cutesy" way. But she was looking a bit gaunt last night - she lost too much weight. Then again, with all the stress, it's expected.

Anyway....a four million dollar wedding. Oh. My. God. That's just...just... well, unbelievable! I think I'm more in shock over the cost of everything than I am from the wedding itself.

The pink was bad, but i read the television without pity review of the first episode, and from that i was expecting soooooo much worse. It was a little over the top, but I thought most of it was tastefully done.

The song at the end though, was amazing - I won't lie, I cried!!

And mullet, I totally agree about the bangs - gross!

that poem sounded a whole lot better set to music than when it was read out loud on the bachelorette. i was like  when i saw Estella's dress (the neckline) at the wedding. i'm sure the invitations to the wedding said black tie... couldn't she have worn a dress that showed a little less cleavage? the wedding was pretty. i like pink a lot, but man, couldn't she have stuck to one or two sahdes of pink instead of the entire pink spectrum? also, does anyone know why one of the bridesmaids had a black ribbon on her dress and no one else did?

I didn't see the whole thing, but it looked like it might have been one of those things where Trista gave the girls some guidelines about the dress, but let them pick their own versions. It looked like one girl's top had straps and another's didn't. I had a friend in a wedding where the bride did the same sort of thing.

I watched about five minutes of it before I couldn't handle anymore and went to sleep instead. First of all, it seemed like it took her at least the entire 5 minutes that I saw just to get down the aisle.. it was just completely cheesy.. and the helicoptors overhead, that was a nice effect hahaha

Ugh, it was AWFUL!!!!!

I groaned every time they showed the nasty unmatching pink chairs...I get that she wanted a gradiation of pink, but they should have at least been in the same tone, not dusty mauve in the front and fuscia in the back! ICK!!!

Someone should teach Trista that the word "Hi" only has two letters and should be pronounced as such, not "Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiyyyyyyyyyyyyeeeeeeeeeee! !!!!!!" I did an impression of Trista saying Hi and it made my dogs freak out and start barking. (Seriously, I'm not exaggerating.)

I couldn't deal with the sand art nonsense. That was the stupidest thing I've ever seen at a wedding.

Anchorgirl
12-11-2003, 03:37 PM
I watched too! I had a bunch a friends over for Dankza tonics, pizza, and a night of watching the Trista and Ryan nuptials. I must say....they certainly dragged the show on for forever! 2 hours and we didn't even get to see the reception at all. I thought the jewelry was gorgeous....as well it should be for that price. Does Trista get to keep all of it?

I agree that the sand was cheesy. Please! C'mon, there were a hundred sentimental, romantic things they could have included in the ceremony but instead they did that stupid thing. I didn't feel like Trista or Ryan were particularly "lost in the moment" or anything like that. They were more excited by the cameras and helicopters. Plus, I think it would have been irritating to be a guest, given that the helicopters probably prevented anyone from hearing anything and made everyone windblown!

So...I would say, interesting television, great to see what you can do for $4 M, but I didn't think it had any romance or sentimental moments. Anyone agree?

LOL

Also, another thing I meant to add before - did anyone else noticed that Trista hardly looked at Ryan at all during the entire ceremony?? it seemed like he was always looking at her, it was really sweet, but everytime i saw her she was staring at the minister, or looking around... it's like whenever the really important parts came she had to force herself to look at ryan... that was really sad to me :(

I watched a few minutes of it, but I got bored when it took everyone so long to walk down the aisle. Then I channeled surf for a few and went back. I felt the preacher was a bit much. I felt he was rather over-bearing. Trista's dress was gorgeous; I was wild about her hair either. Ryan looked hotter than hot! WOW! I liked the gradual changing of the pink shades on the chairs. But I guess I'm alone on that one. I would have liked to have seen the reception as well. Also, was it me or were their mother's suits similar in style but just different in color? They should have planned that better. Also, I wonder if the helicopters were planned...

12-11-2003, 04:24 PM
Another thing that bothered me was the amount of talking they did going down the aisle... They seemed to just be chatting it up. Aren't weddings supposed to be formal?

trideltgirl
12-11-2003, 05:44 PM
So much about their stupid wedding pissed me off. It seems like there was so much planning involved, but it didn't really go all that well. First of all, the damn helicopters were so annoying. If that was my wedding, I would be really mad at the paparazzi. I thought Trista didn't even look that great... she's aged a lot since the Bachelorette was on. I can't believe that they messed up reading those sonnets to each other, even after they had practiced them earlier in the day. It wasn't genuine at all. And what was with the sand that they were pouing in the jar together? That was so unnecessary. I felt like the minister who was doing the wedding was more of a tv star than an actual minister. And why did they talk through the whole thing? That made me mad too. But most of all, I thought that Trista acted like such a brat through the whole thing. When her dad (or whoever) went to walk her down the aisle, she threw his arm off her because he was holding it the wrong way or something.
Of course, I could totally by overreacting because I was a tad bit jealous b/c Ryan is so hot and she's such a brat. And there's the possibility that i was a little drunk, having been drinking grapefruit vodka and tonics all night... lol.

I know it's wrong of me, but as Trista was walking down that LONG staircase I couldn't help thinking 'wouldn't it be funny if she tripped and took a nose dive all the way down'. That would have made it interesting. It was all so cheesy and boring. That sand thing was lame. What was up with the guests waving those streamers at the end? And I agree with whoever said Trista looked liked she's aged a lot (and the bangs didn't help).

I was thinking the same thing about her tripping. Seriously though that staircase was SOOO long, had that been me I definately would have tripped all the way down lol.

For the most part the wedding was beautiful, but yea I could have done without the silly sand business...

I had a final last night so I recorded it. They are so cute together! I loved most of the decorations/ideas used for the wedding. What I didn't like is it was so hokey, with two "reporters" who seemed so fake. I didn't like that. I also didn't like how Mark W., the host, when going to commercial, would say, "Stay tuned for the wedding of the century." Since when was this the wedding of the century? But anyway, I loved their wedding. I loved the surprise song. So pretty to music. I hope they make it. I really, really do. They seem so good for each other.

I think it's all a scam. Like has anyone noticed all the Bachelors and their women have broken up (with the exception of Bob)...and Trista is just stickin' it through for the BIG ASS wedding of her dreams. That's my theory.

If I had 4 million to spend on my own wedding...screw the diamond heeled shoes that no one is going to see and half-a-million dollars on flowers - I'm having Jimmy Buffett play my reception!

Her BMs dresses were Amsale, who makes gorgeous bridal gowns and BMs dresses. The "every BM in a different style of the same color and manufacturer" is kind of a trend right now.

I thought the sand thing was just plain retarded.

These whole Bachelor and Bachelorette shows and spinoffs such as Trista's wedding are so fake. I am so tired of it. I hate all of these romance reality shows where one either finds their husband or wife or tests the lasting of an ongoing relationship.
