I am transferring to a new college this fall where there are no fraternities or sororities. I was initiated into Alpha Chi Omega Sorority last semester at my previous school. I was wondering how my status in the sorority changes. I realize that I will no longer be an "active sister" so what does my status change to? I would appreciate any kind of feedback, especially from an AXO alum/sister.

Sorry, not an AXO or a sister at all for that matter, but at my chapter, if you transfer to another school, you are alumni status.

Lyreleo,
Most likely you will be considered an alumna. Before you move, contact your International Office and get the name and phone number of the alumnae chapter president in the area. If there is no alumnae chapter, but several alumnae, consider forming a local alumnae chapter. Eventually this group could grow strong enough and petition the school to add AXO to the campus.
