For those who support CMN as their philanthropy, there's a CMN marathon on UPN. I'm not sure if it's just in Detroit, but I'm watching it.

It shoud be national, with local inserts. We used to do the telethon locally when I worked for a TV station here in Denver, and in later years I managed the TV remote mobile unit that originated the live national show segments from Walt Disney World.

A couple years ago, they dropped the live national segments in favor of pre-produced pieces.

We always liked this charity because all of the money raised stayed right there in your home city (provided there is a Children's Hospital there), and none was used to support huge national organizational bureaucracy.
