South Bay Infant Found with Pot in His System

A 17-month-old baby has been hospitalized with marijuana in his system.
The mother of the South Bay infant rushed him to Regional Medical Center Wednesday. She and her boyfriend were at work on Tuesday and left the child in the care of a nanny, who had said the boy was very lethargic.
None of the three use marijuana, but police are investigating another person in the home.
"There was a roommate ... that apparently does occasionally use it, so of course that's where we are doing to focus our investigation," said Sgt. Steve Dixon of the San Jose Police Department.
Dixon said doctors have yet to determine if the child ingested the drug or inhaled smoke.
