Thanks! :) It was so exciting, but I'm a bit sad that the pledge period is over! *sniff sniff*

My friend, Kris, was at the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities. I don't know if anyone here is one there... but who knows. My chapter is planning to send a card to theirs, from sisters to sisters.

Hello everyone!!!

I'm a new init from Epsilon chapter at Northwestern! My pledge sisters and I are very excited to be Gamma Phis and many have already taken leadership positions. I am a new member educator, for instance.

We have a good chapter on campus. We're known as genuine girls who don't care for girly drama, but like to have a good time :).I've heard about girls in other houses trying to mantain image or involved in drama with others...not here...we just like to go out into the city or to functions or whatnot. And everyone notices how well we get along. I love my pledge class.

Its wonderful to be a Gamma Phi, especially since my good friend from high school and my debate teammate is a Gamma Phi at UGA, which is close to my home.

Gamma Phibulously yours,
Tina

Hi there!! Welcome to GreekChat!

I was just back -- for the first time in YEARS!!!! -- at the Beta Alpha chapter house last week (on Thursday as a matter of fact) -- went up and checked out my old room which we used to call San Francisco because it had the fire escape...I saw my Presents picture in the chapter room -- it is of my entire pledge class and the actives...gosh I was young! Was wierd not to have a frat house next door and to see what frats (like the Fijis and Phi Delts and Betas) & sororities (AGD and ChiO) were gone....sigh!

Collegiate chapter: Can you guess? Epsilon (Northwestern)

Major: Communications; minors in History and Computer Science

Status: Alumna, Legacy mom to 2

Crescent Catcher in training - many thanks to our LtColonelGPhiB for the instruction and guidance

Pledged Fall 1980, Initiated January 1981

Favorite GPB memories: learning to love the Crescent Moon, pink carnation and sing "Hey Daddy" from my sister, an Alpha Theta (Vanderbilt) Sister;
Hearing the singing as we approached the House during Rush - I knew all of the songs because of my sister and I immediately felt at home;
The look on the face of one of my rushees (I was a Rush Counselor 2 years) when she came to the house on Pledge night and saw me - she never had a clue!
The "Aaahhhh" factor of initiation - "I wondered about that....":D
Oh! How could I forget Derby Days?! I single-handedly caught more derbies than 5 other houses combined - but then, they went to more classes than I did those days, too ;)

Little known fact: When my husband and I got married, the Gospel we chose was the "Founded upon a Rock" one. In the nerly 7 years since, we have had rain and 2 1/2 feet of water in our basement; we have had an earthquake 3 days ago - yes, in Wisconsin!; we have had a tree fall down on the house during a storm leaving no damage (!); we have fought like only an Irish woman and an Italian man can: :0 and our "house" is still here and strong, because it was "Founded upon a Rock."

Aside to Tina and other Epsilon sisters - please contact me - I get back to NU with the Alumni Admission Council a couple times a year, but haven't been inside 640 Emerson since probably 1986.... Sigh....

Northwestern GFB

And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. Matthew 7:25

I'm new to the forum.

I'm a Gamma Phi Beta alum living in Nebraska for the past 8 yrs.

A graduate of the University of Oklahoma and member of GPB Psi chapter.

I've been out of school for many years, and away from Oklahoma for several.

I am getting involved with the Alumni group in Lincoln, Ne and really excited about it.

Although I'm quite a bit older than most of the sisters whose messages I've read, I am looking forward to getting to know you.

Talk more later...

Hi everyone! So excited to find this forum! Here's the scoop on me:

College: Zeta Lambda, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi

Initiated: Nov. 11, 2000 as alum initiate

Major: BA in History, MA in Public Admin

No collegiate offices, but I have been: AVP & MEVP advisor for 1 yr, Chapter Advisor for 3 years, and now PRVP advisor. Am also Crescent Circle Chairwoman for Corpus Christi Area Alums.

Favorite memory: there are a couple that really stand out. One is going to convention in DC. I LOVED doing closing ritual with so many sisters! it was awesome! The other fun one was my candle passing when I got engaged. It was just last sunday (the passing) and it was fun watching everyone try to figure out who it was with the announcement!

If anyone is in Texas, feel free to email me! Or, if you need to get ahold of the A&M-Corpus Christi collegiate chapter. They are fabulous!

Favorite Gamma Phi Beta Memory: When the chapter was started we were given an old frat house and we had such a good time there. Its since been renovated, (and now it's beautiful!) but with that everyone became uptight about not messing anything up. My favorite memories there were sitting on the old ratty furniture just kicking it up with my sisters.

I LOVED being in the first pledge (or new member-sorry!) class. 50 girls rushed spring 95, and only 12 were chosen. Although I wasn't a founding mother, being involved with a new soroity on campus was awesome. We made the reputation... and now it's one of the strongest sororities on campus, and I'm very proud to be a Gamma Phi!

I'm also a member of Gamma Sigma Sigma! :-)

It's true -- I didn't say much else about my life. If you'd like to check out my book, Wyoming Trucks, True Love and the Weather Channel, you can look at my website http://jeffekennedy.com or you can look the book up on Amazon. I'm also an environmental consultant for my day job, so I travel quite a bit. I'll be in Helena, Montana in November and Santa Fe in December. I might also be in Albany/Troy, New York in December or January. I'm thinking I might visit Syracuse while there, to see the mother ship. But if any of you are near my upcoming travel destinations, I'm always there a week and would be pleased to meet you!

I have gone to the last 4. The costs are approx the following:

Hotel: has been about $100 per night
Airfare: not sure what it will cost for you to fly to Phoenix
Registration: Around $500-$600 for the full time registration (includes all sessions and meals)

This year there is an additional day for alumnae programming (Sunday) and what I saw was that it's in additional costs.

Hello,
I am a new pledge at the Delta Iota Chapter -Purdue University!!!
There are 15 of us that accepted our bid for Spring semester!!! That pulls the overall freshman pledge class to about 45!!! We are quickly outgrowing our house seeing that there are only 9 seniors graduating. I am super excited to be apart of something this wonderful, the girls are amazing! I cannot wait for initiation on April 5th, 2008!
