What movies did you pay to see in the theaters that made you want a refund?
Angel Eyes: I just can't buy J-Lo trying to play a white woman, to me she is obviously Puerto Rican

About two years ago I rented "Get Down On It." That's the one where the two girls compete to see who'll marry first. Now, Hollywood Video lets you rent movies for five days, but they had that sucker back within 24 hours. I don't know why I expected any depth from characters named Kinky and Ta-Ta!
This "cinematic train wreck" was cited in another post called Mystery Ghetto Theater 3000 (http://www.greekchat.com/gcforums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=11459). Indeed!

Leaving Las Vegas-I had to watch this for a substance abuse class so I didn't have much of a choice. But what made it so bad was that I rented it from the public library and for non-educational videos and DVD's you had to pay a dollar and after I watched that movie, I wanted my dollar back and went as far as to ask the librarian for a refund!!

The Blair Witch Project-WTF was that????

Thanks for posting that Exquizit. My dilemma Friday night was to see either Phone Booth or Head of State and since I heard such awful things about Phone Booth, I opted for Head of State. So, in case you haven't seen it yet, Do Not Waste Your Money on Head of State. It was horrible. I already told y'all that Chris Rock is not funny to me (in movies that is), but I expected Bernie Mack to pick up his slack. How come all Bernie's funny parts were shown on the commercial? HC the story line sucked? HC Chris Tucker's movie on the same subject will be 10xs better??? HC I'm so mad I wasted my money on this movie? Hc maybe I'm just getting too damn old?

Yes, you read that I did not care for the MATRIX. You also read that if Ideal wants to see the sequel, I will be in another theater watching something else. No there is no need to WATCH IT AGAIN or any of its sequels.
HC I cannot say that I did not like one movie and folks be up in arms with it but someone don't like ___________ and folks roll with it?

Frat, I don't really get into sci-fi flicks, if you want to know the truth. But I really fell in love with The Matrix. I love everything about it!!
I noticed that there are a few movies on this thread that I thoroughly enjoyed. It reminds me of an Inroads workshop we went to in Pre-Collegiate. This dude was talkin' about how "everyone has preferences." I wish y'all coulda been there, it was really funny. That was 12 years ago (dang) and we STILL use that in conversation.

I'm with all of you on Vanilla Sky. You're better off renting the original film that it was based on - Abre Los Ojos. THAT was a good movie!
Stealing Harvard was just poor. Tom Green was funny for two seconds then he just got on my nerves. And the premise does NOT work. This girl has got financial aid coming but they still need 33,000? So they gave her 300 bucks for books? Harvard? THey have about the biggest federal grant ever! I give them credit on the fin aid tip- I have heard no complaints from Harvard headz about their money situation. Oh well.
The Ring. THe movie was scary for all of fifteen minutes that I ahd to sit through two long boring hors to get through. IT was like Sixth Sense Redux. Speaking of which....
Sixth Sense - wasn't scared. wasn't that interested either.
Blair Witch. THis movie could only have been interesting if you thought it was real or something. Otherwise it was just tedious.
See IMO movies that are really BAD can be njoyable simply because they're amusingly awful. I can deal with that. Movies that are just long and boring though.... I can't take.
Oh and in closing, I am on the Matrix train! I can't WAIT to see Jada kick arse in the sequel!
