Hi... I'm posting here because this is a kinder forum than the listserv and also because, for whatever reason, the KKPsi messageboard is really dead... we're all the same family, and I know I can get good advice from both sisters and brothers.

Anyway, my chapter is very young -- we got our charter in April. We have 10 actives and about that many prospectives. I'm an officer and in some ways the mama hen of the chapter, or so it seems.

Last year, while we were colonizing, the ten of us got along very well. It was a group effort and everyone was pretty much pulling in the same direction.

This year, we've got three factions of actives:
1. People who are trying to get the chapter through this year in one piece and do what needs to get done.
2. People who volunteer to do things, don't follow through, and then get mad at Group 1 for calling them on it.
3. Those stuck in the middle, who duck and cover.

Group 2 has caused all kinds of drama of the "you're mean, I quit", silent-treatment, unpleasant email variety. Group 1 finds itself talking about members of Group 2 behind their back and in general strongly disliking them. Group 3 is caught between their sniping brothers. Recently, after some references to fellowship were brought up, some members of Group 1 have felt remorse about their lack of brotherly love -- but others aren't sure they can patch up the hurt feelings and damage done. I am among the latter. It's not that I don't still love them... I just find it difficult to be in the same room with them.

I know this mostly boils down to growing pains that will pass, hopefully sooner as opposed to later. But in the meantime, people are talking drastic measures and everyone is miserable on a social level.

 How can I help glue my chapter back together? Or do we just need to let elements weed themselves out? Any advice for weathering this storm? Any good bonding activities?Help!

I'm at the end of my rope. Any advice will be hugely appreciated.

Sounds like us at Lambda Alpha a bit. Last year during our colonization process it was a lot of work. This year we wanted to have fun after going through the whole petitioning document work and stuff.

I'd say have a big chill time and try to have more fun.
