View Full Version : How long do Greek Chatters stay active?
James

I was just curious how well we retain Greek Chatters.
Do we lose people after 3 months, 6 months, a year?
Do people graduate and not come back?
Anyway, post your start dates, especially the older ones. I know they are on the sides. ;)
And tell us how often you come on. Dribs and drabs, summers off etc. When you are going to quit . . .
Its strange to see old names that posted all the time fade away as new ones pop up.

I've been here as a registered member for one year and two months since Sept. 2001. I was away for a few weeks when I went on vacation and when I was particularly busy.

I've been registered for nearly 19 months. I lurked for three months after becoming an AKA, because I wanted to get a feel of the room.
For the most part, I've never left.

This December I'll mark my 2 year GC Anniversary.
I tend to post more when I'm at work, and during the school year I don't work as much as I do during the summer and other school breaks.
I still post here and there, but most of my GC time is limited to just browsing.

2 Years 6 months. I too lurked for about 2 months. I was really turned off by my experience with GreekSource.
I post at work, but never on the weekends.
I'll stay till it goes away or I get too busy.

My 1 year GC bday is coming up on the 27th of November! I posted every once in a while, and then for a long time I didn't check GC at all. Then in the past couple months I began posting more :)
I think it just depends on how busy my life gets at different points in time

My two year anniversary was November 16th! I come on here pretty much everyday (I have to since I'm a Moderator). I don't get to use a computer at work so I have to post in the morning or evening hours when I'm around the house.
I don't know when I'll stop coming here. It's so hard because even if I get older there are still people on here that I enjoy reading and knowing about~and there's always a new face to befriend as well.

I registered in Sept 2000, but I posted before that. So that's, like, many months.

I've been posting here since Sept. of 2001, though I've been on a little break lately. Life is what happens when you're making other plans. Recently I've been checking the boards about every other day.
As for retention: We have almost 25,000 registered members (24,798 as of 12:45 am EST, November 20, 2002). As for the number who have been around, say, longer than three months...well...I'm too lazy to go looking. If it's anything like the other active boards I post on, I'd say retention after three months is maybe 10 percent? What do I know? I'm a musician; I can only count to four.
I think we lose people for a lot of reasons: Life, graduation, simple loss of interest. But I will say that this has been a great year and I love this site as much as I ever did.

I've been around for a few years under various screen names. I kept forgetting what they were during the periods where I wouldn't check, so I decided to make it simple and make it my real name :)

I have been a regular member since January 11, 2001 and I have 2522 posts racked up. I used to browse the site freqently before I actually registered. I became a registered user after I graduated from college. I am on GC all the time and I'm never going to quit! Hi, my name is Amy, and I'm a GC addict. :)

I've been here for over 3 years (September 1999). I changed my screen name recently, so that's why it looks like I've only been around for a few months.

March of 2001 (I think...I'll have to look at this post to be sure!:D) for me.
I used to come here on a daily basis...but I probably come 2-3 times a week now instead...I find there's too much drama here now. Mostly I read posts and will only post here and there now.
