It was SO time for a new one of these!!!

I just wanted to tell yall... I found my Fred Hammond CD!!!! :D I forget what the name of the CD is, but it's part of a 2 disc set, and they are white... well, anyway, when I got laid off from a job back in 2000, I thought I'd left it in the cdrom. Well, when I was cleaning out the garage, I found him!!!!! :) I was SO happy!!! He was my morning gospel music, DAILY. I love that CD!!

On a sadder note, I lost my TLC cd. :( Fanmail. :( I am hoping it's at my sister's, if not, I'm so sad. I had JUST gotten up the gumption to listen to it and not be sad about Lisa, and now it's gone. :(

There's a cd I really want by Prince. It's called Somebody's Somebody. I think this is one of the best songs Prince ever put out. I also want Patti Austin and Jeffrey Osbourne's Greatest Hits. You all might think I'm all for listening to this but I'm not.. I get sick of rap and todays music.
Is anyone familiar with the jazz group Pieces of a Dream ?

I will never ever buy a Jennifer Lopez cd?

I'm familiar with POAD. They had a song in the 80's that was quite popular on R&B stations.

Hey Ideal, you might be talking about "Pages Of Life". One disc if the studio version of the songs, the second disc is most of the same songs live.

Yesterday on Russ and Olivia, they "exclusively" previewed TLC's newest called GIRL TALK -- yoooooo that song is BANGING!!!

I am also digging Missy's new song about badunkadunks.

has anyone seen LL's new video Luv U Better? Anyway, does he not look "different"? There is something about him that isn't the same (as far as face). Has he gone under the knife?

I enjoy Luaren, Meshell, India, Jill, Angie, Luther, old R&B.

Dislike 95% of everything else especially rap, but oddly enough I like Ememen.

I was wondering the same thing. But I think he's just lost some weight. As for the video, it looks like a spin off of the movie "Pretty Woman".

The new J Lo song is HOT. I don't really like J Lo musically, but I can't even hate on this one!

Mariah Carey's new one? Bleh. Recycled from when she had big hair and boys with fades playing drums on a bucket, lol.

Eminem's new track is hot. I think the whole 8 Mile sdtk will be bangin, from looking at the artists.

That new Jill Scott "Easy Conversation" on the Brown Sugar sdtk is my jam, man.

LL does look better in his new video, I think he just toned up a lot.

I'm so impressed by this album. It comes out TOMORROW and I can't recall the last time I've been pressed to get a cd on it's release date. I'll have Floetry and India Arie to add to my non-bootleg collection.

I am going to look for Floetry today. They will be here with Slum Village on Nov. 8th. YAY!!! :) Hopefully I will be able to go.

Jazzyfatnastees is supposed to be here this weekend, I have to check with my coworker. If so, I am SO there!!! librasoul, don't be jealous! :p

 you know........ I don't know could have been. I've seen a picture of the group in a magazine while they were in concert. I think the group consist of about 6 average looking white guys. Did you know that they have some sort of connection with Micheal McDonald, formerly of the Doobie Brothers or better yet he sanged ON MY OWN with Patti Labelle.

I've just found this. This is Steely Dan's official website; here is where I found the band members pictures. So I can actually put a face(s) with the band. Hope it helps! It contains alot of interesting history about the band. Hope you like it Gyrl7.

VH-1 had them featured on their Storytellers show a few months back.

Floetry. They were just on 106 and Park. The girls are from London. They have written songs for many artists. They even wrote MJs "Butterflies".

I might check them out. They seem to be REAL artisits seeking LONGEVITY.

Heather Headley. She's new too. I saw her last night on the Songwriter's Hall of Fame on Bravo. She can SANG. I think I'll look for her CD too.

I picked up India (Le). The BS soundtrack was sold out!

Heather Headley is the bomb. I've also heard some of her broadway tunes. She is very talented.

I thought I was the only one loving "Ching Ching". I'll actually have the chance to see Ms. Jade along with Musiq and Nappy Roots this weekend. I'll give a report later.

I picked up the Floetry and India.Arie CDs this past week. So wonderful to have really good ORIGINAL music.

I swear the same music must reach folks at the SAME TIME regardless of market forces (cause I don't listen to radio or watch MTV that much anymore), lol.

I have been wondering WHY Ching Ching is not BLOWING up for at least two weeks now, that song is BANGIN. Does anyone know who the guy on the track is?

Ditto with the Heather Headley songs. I always wish I could have gotten to see HER playing Aida, but alas the cast recording will have to suffice.

FLoetry also gets the big thumbs up- they are sooooooo tight.
